Scott Kline was born on October 27, 1967, in Santa Cruz, California, he started his first band "Soi Dissent" while in high school in California. Weiland's parents split up when he was 2 years old, later his mother married David Weiland and Scott was now known as Scott Weiland. A Grammy winning songwriter and lead singer, Scott shocked the rock audiences during the 90's with his band Stone Temple Pilots; his flamboyant, explosive style as a front man and his on stage antics quickly helped cement the band's reputation.
During his life, Scott experienced many high and lows... a number of personal tragedies predisposed him to guilt and pain. However, he would rise to the occasion multiple times to be born again from his own ashes and shock the audiences with yet another record, explosive performance or even a new band; he did this half a dozen+ times, every time the press marked him as a finished act.
Sadly, Scott succumbed to his addiction and passed away on his tour bus, on December 3rd, 2015. A night I will personally remember forever, for a vast number of reasons. Could his death have been prevented? Was the grueling tour schedule he was forced to accept to maintain his lifestyle and family expenses a heavy catalyst for his ultimate fall? What could have been done differently to protect him from his own self?
