Yes it most certainly does, JJ. That stupid fuk who was the so called kidnapping ring leader and a “computer engineer”, apparently didn’t have a fuk’in clue as to how IP addresses work. I knew those dumb fuks would get caught as soon as I heard the ransom was in bitcoin.

What a damn shame. With sports betting now starting to become legal in several states, who knows, Tony might’ve come back here and started or ended up managing a huge betting operation here in the U.S. He was an intelligent guy, legalized sports betting happened just a little too late for him to get outta the corruption that plagues Costa Rica.

Rest In Peace Tony. At least they caught the stupid greedy fuk’ers.

      You have to use Monero.

I found out quickly on the dark net that BTC can be tracked.

not a big deal if you're just buying a little recreational drugs, but if you're running a criminal Enterprise it is

The criminal act involved 5 members of a family, several relatives and 2 officers. As described by Wálter Espinoza, director of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ). https://www.crhoy.com/nacionales/en-...e-secuestrado/

        RIP.

It is sad news, I’ve had many a conversation with ‘Tony’ I always gave him respect, and he always gave me respect back.

The one thing that stuck out about him was I was extremely impressed with his intelligence.
His baseball knowledge was mind boggling.

Gosh I swear some of you posters deliberately try to act like you belong on the short bus at times. Friggen hell.

I don't give a shit about the money someone as... the bloody guy wouldn't give me an account there until I'd tried probably 30 times to open one. He hated my ass at first. And every time I'd go on live chat to try to discuss a player complaint he'd get someone to flip me off and would only talk to Dozer or Louise even though HE had initially insisted I contact him. A friggen fruit loop as far as I was concerned. And then I finally cracked it 8 years ago or so and said while I appreciate he stands up for his company he appears rather batshit crazy and then he flipped it on me... "you always try to stop people trying to jack SBR, why am I any different?" And the guy was right. And then he went on and asked what it would take to hire myself and Louise and I said considering I live where I do.... trust me I know he may have had a rough bedside manner but I don't consider him any different than myself when banning people who try to dodge their way into registering for SBR or especially a contest. It may not be palatable for some - including my colleagues - but I bet you were happy Tony had the cash to always pay you out because he was a hard prick rather than smile, shit and shave and have no money for anything but at least you had a good number of registrations!

Tony was a brilliant business person and I hope whomever's taken over for him will honour what he's established there. RIP and much love to his family, colleagues and loved ones.

You also should wash the coin at least 2x with untraceable coins like Monero, Zcash, Verge or Bitcoin Private.

They marketed it that way. A lot of people still "think" it is. As long as their blockchain is public, it will not be.

Yup. I'll say if you're just buying a little drugs or whatever don't worry about it, feds don't care about you at all.

"tony" was a brilliant gambler who was smart enough to create the greatest online sportsbook ever.

I hope Costa Rica doesn't become another violent failed central American state. Kidnapping, corrupt cops? if the drug trade takes hold, goodbye pura vida.

So they found him buried a year later in a cemetery in an unmarked grave. Well I guess that's good that they finally found his remains for the families sake.

Sounds like he was flashy and became a target in a poor Country, it happens. He could have crossed up some cartel and or ever burned some bridges with some higher ups being in that industry also. Who really knows the entire true story? Still sounds like it's being covered up at some level.

Steve Wynn used to say the expression about if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen must have come from someone who owned a casino.

The bigger question is why they had to kill the dude if they received ransom for him. Still a lot more questions to be answered. For example why his bodyguard was not with him that night?

2 cops were in on it. If you can’t trust the police, who can you trust? Tony probably either felt comfortable enough having lived there for 20 years that he was safe and didn’t need to pay off the police or govt to protect his business. In the end he’s a rich American gringo, in a shady business, set up in a 3rd world country. That’s a big target that tends to stand out. It was only a matter of time.

Sure his family wishes he could have gotten out with the $$$ he made and lived a quiet life in the Caribbean somewhere.

Well duh it’s an inside hit.
Almost all murders are inside hits.
Only 11 percent of all murders are random hits.

Not for nothing you have a 1 in 16,000 chance of being murdered.
Not for nothing part two Honduras is the worlds most murderous country and it’s not even close.
Venezuela is second followed by the US Virgin Islands.

Article says the FBI/family wanted better forensic analysis than just the quick preliminary dental examination but that it hasn't been carried out and/or the results not revealed. I mean they were told the body was in a cemetery so of course there was a body. Article brings up a lot of new information, especially concerning his legal troubles back here.

I'm relaxing my guy, cigar and a beer for the afternoon ball. Just take a read next time, I simply found it curious that the author writing an article about Tony thought there's a chance he's a live. For the record, I don't buy it but thought it was interesting.
