Anyone Go On Cruises?

Thinking about doing my first cruise in a long time. Likely 7 day cruise to Alaska. Went as a kid like 20 years ago.

What are the best cruise lines? Heard Royal Caribbean is nice. What perks do you enjoy on the cruise?

Would just be me and my girl, no kids.

celerity and princess are nice also. They have all you can drink booze options now. It's worth it. Try eastern Caribbean. More to see. It's like you have a designated driver as you're drinking and when you wake up you are in a new country

You have to be able to handle mass people everywhere. At the buffet lines, out on deck....everywhere. For some people they like that social atmosphere. You do get the most bang for your buck with a cruise.

play poker if they have it, you can easily win another cruise and a ton of money in the cash games..... slot machines will rape you faster than kavanaugh can rape a bitch at a DKE party.......

Spend a little more and fly to somewhere to take a decent cruise....I have been on 23 cruises and the Alaskan was the worst...just trying to help

Was thinking about that. Would be nice to hit the pool outside, can't really do that there. I am a short flight from LA. What cruise lines would you recommend since you've been on so many.

Wife and I took a 2-week Mediterranean cruise this summer. It was the most amazing trip of my life. 8 countries total in 3 weeks, beaches, amazing food and drink, spectacular views, site seeing... went on a premium cruise line and didn’t even take advantage of all the entertainment on board.

Premium cruise line would probably be best for Alaska, like a Holland America Line, Princess or Celebrity. Fewer children, more country club style ships, fewer passengers, luxury dining.

Upscale Contempory lines are a bit cheaper, like Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Viking, and they’re still much nicer than Carnival or Star. These ones will be bigger than premium lines and younger passengers but will have great entertainment and plenty of dining options on board. Friends of mine just returned from Norwegian and they loved it.

You’ll have a blast man. I’d like to do an Alaskan cruise. My boss went on one last year and loved it.

Depends on where you really want to go. Carnival is fine to the Caribbean...also Royal Caribbean is good. Look to see about what cruise lines do the Tahitian islands..it used to be renaissance but they went out of business.

cant remember the cruise line but the Greek islands was a good one as well

Thanks for the advice. What do you do on days you are just cruising? What do they got to keep you entertained other than alcohol and food? We'll be chatting a lot in a month, cbb right around the corner!

Best thing about one of my cruise adventures was there was a Bill W meeting for an hour on one of the decks...I decided to check it out with a bottle of crown and a few beers....well apparently Bill W started Alcoholics Anonymous so I was out of place

Been on a few Monsters of Rock cruises out of Miami, had a blast. Unlike Donk, lost at poker but more than made up for it playing craps. Plenty to do, eat, drink. Fun as you want it to be.

Years ago I sent my mom and ex-wife on one for Xmas, I went to Vegas that week. I have no interest being stuck on a boat for majority of my vactation. When I go places I like to take in the culture (drugs) and party, would’nt want to be forced back onto a boat every night at certain time if I find some fun stuff going on at one of my stops!!!

For what it worth my moms loved it and been going on cruises ever since. I just couldn’t see enjoying it as much as simply picking a place and staying there for a week.

Yup, did it with a GF and I almost lost my mind.. It was a scuba diving trip combined on the stops too.. The cruise liner was big but I felt boxed in after a few days.. I'd run around the ship "running deck lane" for a work out and even that got old, the cabin rooms were tiny as hell, the food was decent but repetitious.. This was on a high rated Cruise Liner as well.. Night life was suspect, thank God for the gambling rooms though ..

At the end of the week trip my GF was driving me crazy... We made it though.. It felt more like an endurance trip then a vacation...

You see the same people every night, the same people at the deck pools, etc.. It gets old fast!!!!

You pretty much summed up all my fears as to why I would never do a cruise.. much rather go to someplace nice where I can explore, take in the culture, and find some happening spots at night. I could see myself going bankrupt as it would turn into a floating casino I couldn’t leave!! Lol
