Pretty sure You can't buy a zip with the big motor anymore........

Has a quick stick in seat as well, just stick it in the hole and sit..........
The Birds go like 25mph from what I can tell.. They really move, go up hills, etc..

It would probably cheaper over time for sure but you can't leave yours any where in the city, you can't get yours when ever you like any where in the city at any time and you can't always have your own personally purchase scooter fully charged all the time like these BIRDS are..

Riding the BIRDS is .15 cents a minute..

I don't ride them and probably won't.. I just said it's great idea and will be huge soon all across America.. Look for stock options in the future.

America is gonna even get more fat now with this scooter craze spreading... Bikes becoming obsolete now..

Agro Teens will probably start breaking them though..

They never really mastered the puddle bike, so yeah, bikes probably not going to take off, at least in areas of heavy rainfall...

These along with the app bikes are all over san diego. I see more homeless people using the bikes than anyone. I guess they have smart phones. They are kinda cool to ride around on, and I got my lime scooter up to about 16mph the other day. They are not pleasant to look at though when they are dumped all over sidewalks and many over on their sides. People pick up the scooters and charge them at night and set them back out in the morning. A few months back, some idiot almost ran into my car in PB. Cool concept, but more of a nuisance I'd say.

As with most things, the pendulum is going to swing the other way a bit, and they'll put some rules in. The first I'll bet is to not leave them laying around. The companies want this, because it makes it a more attractive option, but you can't just have them littering the streets, I think we can all agree on that.

I like the capitalism, but hate the ethics behind it. They tried to go the tough-guy Uber route, and I hope it does bite them a bit.

Where they went wrong with the City bike rental business is that they didn't make them electric.. Make those city rent bikes electric and it will take off again like these scooters are now...

Nobody likes pedaling.. Everyone is lazy these days.. Especially the kids...

IDK? They got built in GSP tracking devices.. They can be tracked immediately in other words.. Then they have locking electronic devices installed on them also that is connected with to the Company and App..

Not sure it's worth the trouble to try and steal one.. Combine that with city camera's and there is a good chance the thief trying to steal one would get caught...

Maybe though??? Company is making a fortune I'm sure they can afford a few replacements..

Jibby speaketh the truth. These things are huge in LA. You won't find too many older people (>35) but damn they are everywhere. I'm stunned that people can seemlngly ride them without a helmet.

Bird has just been valued as a Billion dollar business.

Lime scooters are faster but not as ubiquitous (sorry to use big words).

I saw these scooters and bikes all around Stateline at South Shore Lake Tahoe. They were everywhere in that little area and the scooters hauled ass.

I couldn't believe how fast the scooter was scooting with a huge guy on it. There is some power in those things, no helmets. I never saw anyone wreck, but there were a lot of them among the pedestrians.

                                          They are quiet too.

I would get one of these for $1300 if it were classified as an "electric bicycle" and didn't require insurance, also if I had a trailer to haul stuff with it and if it had a longer range.

Electric stuff from china is cheap atm.

Plus you have to bring your own helmet to be legal. That's painful enough even with your own bicycle you can leave the helmet locked to. But having to carry it around?

Might work in contained areas like Venice Beach, and the motors wont start outside the perimeter, but this looks a bigger logistical problem than the shared bicycle schemes to me.
dont need a helmet if you're over 18

Government might have to regulate on where to park these scooters.

Wouldn't it be considered littering if you just left the scooter onthesidewalk, when you were done.

I just ate shit on one two weeks ago after a night of drinking at a friend’s house. Tried to make the curb at the driveway, took me out head first.

                                                    It was aweosme.

Wouldn't it be considered littering if you just left the scooter onthesidewalk, when you were done.
Yeah, this was a problem in SF.

                                                      People tripping on them.

Almost a problem at South Shore.

They are getting a lot of pushback in LA. A lot of cities are starting to ban them. I don't see how they profit the homeless and tweakers are tearing these things a part. People are tossing them in the ocean, throwing them on roofs burning them etc. They can't be making enough to cover the loss of the bikes or scooters that go missing.
