I re-wrote the bible in 6 months, and I prob. have read it 3 to 4 times. I'm never done learning new things from Gods Word. I have been watching some old time shows on netflix, they both have their place, but two completely different things. Ones for entertainment and ones for life.

I once wrote a story about young professionals struggling to make it in a big city detailing their fleeting romantic relationships and experiences with drugs, alcohol etc. It is a coming of age story about a group of people who thought they had the world figured out only to realize that life in and of itself is a learning process. It is a story of life, love and the freedom to choose our own paths in life; to control our own destinies.
I highly recommend it as I am working on a final draft before adapting it to a screen play.
It is called, Ghostbuster 3: Return to Ghostbusters

What non-religious values are being forced on people? The loss of the right to enforce religious values?
I prefer peace, but would fight to be free.
People are being forced to run their business like a charity, and pay people much more than they're worth because they have a "right" to a living wage.

How much are you worth? Are they paying you what you think you are worth? If they offer too much, will
you say no thanks?
So, if company monkey B sees company monkey A laying off 1/2 his work force, does he do the same? You bet.
Domino effect, monkey see, monkey do. Lead, follow or get out of the way. That company is leaving his work force
on the doorstep of the govt, let's do the same!
Are you saying it's ok for companies to dump it's workforce to stay alive, but it's wrong for the govt to help them?
It's ok for companies to pay shit wages, but it's wrong for employees to take food stamps?
The govt already took in how many millions during the recession thanks to companies dumping? Companies are
still using the govt to subsidize their employees while raking in huge profits. Then you guys bitch about how
much we are spending?
I hate recessions. This last one took us back to the Reagan wage days of over 30 years. It's time companies
own up.

If company monkey a is laying off half his workforce because most of the business is going to company b, then company monkey b probably will have to hire people.
Yes, it's okay for companies to dump half their workforce to stay alive. Are you saying its wrong for companies to stay alive by dumping its workforce, thereby causing even more unemployment? Yes, it's wrong for the government to help companies stay open. I have no problem with people taking help as long as the help is voluntary. Notice the change you're making: you're saying government help, but it's really politicians forcing everyone to be charitable whether they want to or not. You're free to be charitable.
How much are those companies paying in taxes? Joe Stiglitz found that about 70% of the corporate taxes fall on the backs of the workers.
Again, it's wrong to force your morals on others.

Paying a fair wage is charity? You might be a good man and give plenty to charitable organizations, but many
do not. Maybe because they can't afford to or they aren't giving anything to a low life. Many wouldn't piss on you
if you were on fire.
I know you like free markets, but to rely on the "charity" of companies to give a fair wage, just ain't gonna happen,
which is why the govt stepped in long ago to set a minimum wage. Not only did they do that, with the help of
organized labor, they set amount of hours worked, overtime and benefits, along with safety standards.
Those aren't morals, they should be rights.

You're not asking for a fair wage, you're asking for what you're worth plus anything else you need to live a lifestyle you want. What would be fair is if an employee is paid based on what they contribute to society.
I'm not saying they should rely on charity, they should make themselves valuable enough to society that society pays them what they want.
They are morals. Passing laws that say someone has a right to what someone else produces will have massive negative consequences, but it also imposes costs on other people.

Going by my wife who works with part time people, who go to a business college, just showing up for work
and on time is valuable in itself. 1/2 of them don't want to work when they are there. If they can't work for
minimum wage, they sure aren't going to work for $15. So I agree with you there.
During the debates, they were saying what you are saying, but I thought they were all full of it, because
they can spew all sorts of helping people programs while on stage, but will cut those same programs
when they get in.
I believe govts roll should be to use the money we give them, to protect us from our enemy, domestic (corporations)
and abroad, give us good roads to drive on and protect our environment. Not to hoard it and call it their own.
Corporations use the same services we do, why do they keep skirting around taxes?

What exactly can corporations do to us right now if government didn't get involved? They don't have an army or police force, they can't force us to work or shop there. If you think you're being price gouged, shop somewhere else. If you think you're being underpaid, work somewhere else.
Corporations typically don't pay taxes. There is a bit of leeway in that statement, but taxes just get passed on to the consumer. The higher you have a need for an item, like food, the more the corporation can pass that tax.

Damn straight the govt creates jobs. One, the govt is the US's largest employer. Two, those who have govt contracts
create millions of jobs.
My previous employer (printing), made his company on the back of the govt. Over 1,000 employees and 7 buildings
until the govt went to CD Rom. He then used his 100m he saved from the govt to go public with periodicals and hired
more people with up to date machines costing millions each.
Where do you think the TSA and the border patrol comes from? All those worthless govt agencies are paid
an above and beyond living wage on our dime.
You're union and probably have a cubicle paid for by the state or federal. Where do you go to lunch? Probably
to a private place around where govt employees hang out. The govt created commerce.

This is why education is important so you don't incorrectly think government creates jobs. Someone making a business of government contracts is not job creation for government just like the government allocating resources for the TSA is not job creation. This is economics 101 stuff, very basic rule in business.

The Department of Everything
In November of 2012 I wrote this post about the Department of Defense’s spending on programs that have nothing to do with defense. Recently the DoD announced that the Army will be cutting 40,000 troops over the next two years. Meanwhile, the Department of Everything continues to spend money of motels, schools, energy research, global health activities and medical research.
This is why education is important so you don't incorrectly think government creates jobs. Someone making a business of government contracts is not job creation for government just like the government allocating resources for the TSA is not job creation.
