I agree but disagree with you, as I do not care for the Jamaican people. I do not trust them and find them irritating. Big time hustlers, and I am referring to the Jamaicans that I have came across during visits to Negril, Dunns River, Kingston, and Ocho Rios.
On the hand, the beaches and ocean waters are fabulous, and I do like the some of the food.

Yea the hustlers are terrible...But those aren't the Jamaican people I'm talking about. I'm talking about the ones outside the little food joints, the ones you talk to while not at the resort/tourist attraction places.
I could eat Jerk Chicken every single day of my life (or at least for 3 weeks in a row)
But those hustlers you speak of are at every single beach where ever they're allowed, no matter what country/island (at least every one i've visited) Had great experiences hanging out with locals and terrible experiences with the hustlers.

Oh how I love the La Cafe! Thailand ranges just as you said, if you want to see the hottest girls but they are the most expensive go to Baccara in soi cowboy. Bacarra is right up there with the top spots in Hong Kong

Very good post, and I have never considered this area, but your post makes me want to put it on the places I want to strongly consider to visit. Very much appreciated you taking the time to share the info.!
Highly recommend it!
Couple of tips if you go. First, if you can afford it, fly first class. The mrs and I have a rule, if we fly international or over an ocean, we're flying first class. No exceptions. If we have to push the date further back in order to afford it, we will. You get to skip the horribly long security check points, get your own lounge area and then usually they're large planes that take forever to fully board, so you're sitting in your nice comfy oversized seat sipping champainge as the everyone else is boarding. You get a little "swag" bag that comes with the essentials. Plus, the seats usually recline flat, so you can actually lay back and sleep. The service is great, food is great, overall money well spent.
Second, go in the summer. Best summer weather anywhere IMO. Comparable with the PacNW.
Third, it's not a tropical get a way. Gotta have a different mindset going into it. Enjoy the beauty, the culture, the food, beer etc... and you will love it. Go for a few weeks if you can, the entire region is truly spectacular and one of our fav thingd to do is hop on a train and go into Sweden or The Netherlands. Travel the area and you won't bedisappointed.
Lastly, as a bonus, if you can go during the World Cup, do it. It's just a really fun time to be there. Copenhagen has a lot of nice little bars located on the waterfront and they always have watch parties for WC games and it starts early.
i could write even more but I've already gone on too long

You have not gone on to long, and I very much appreciate you sharing the information with me and the forum. As I posted previously, you are a first class person, and it is people like you who make me want to participate in internet forums, as it provides me the opportunity to meet people like yourself I would otherwise never get a chance to meet.
Like you, I always fly first class or business class if I am going on a long flight, as the comfort you receive from doing so is well worth it as you also pointed out in your above post. I generally use my miles to upgrade, but as you probably know, with the changing of how you receive and use your flight award miles , miles are getting to be practically useless.
I can related to what you are saying about going during the World Cup Games, as I had spent 3 weeks in June in Brazil during the World Cup Game, and as I had posted on my thread in the College Football Forum, it was the best time of my life. Nothing can compare to that type of atmosphere.
Again.... thank you for your contributions and recommendations on the thread!

I have always loved and wanted to retire out West . My choice would be Arizona. Love the desert and the nighttime sky is so clear out in the desert . They cook great steaks out there too. Like to go to some of the Ghost Towns like Oatman (They have wandering mules that live in the mining caves)or of course the biggest Tombstone. On my honeymoon my wife and I spent a couple days in the Buford house which has been on Haunted History(History Channel) as the most Haunted bed and breakfast in the USA. Sedona is beautiful too and close to the Meteor Crator ,the Petrified Forest(One of the best Priced deals ever getting in) and of course the Grand Canyon..

I have maintained homes in Cartagena, Colombia, and in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for many many many years. Actually, I relocated to Puerto Vallarta when I sold my condo in Manila. Both of these cities and countries have something special to offer for those looking for a place to retire, unfortunately the cost of living has increased dramatically since I relocated to these areas, so it is had gotten to be quite expensive, but you still have a quality of life I never found while I was living in the United States, and it is the quality of life that is the utmost important to me.
Here is a couple of pics of these areas: Two of the pics are not mine but the others are:

Your Welcome and do not forget you are just a few hours away from Nevada and the one of the coolest places. No not Las Vegas Area 51 where they keep all the Aliens. I know this for a fact because when i went there and the guards arrested me they took me to where they keep the Aliens and they did this test where they replaced all my internal organs with cow organs. It is not so bad though because i end up grazing in some nice fields. Plus we get milk free because 3XS a week while i am asleep my wife milks me - At least i think it's milk .

Bigbill365,
Have you ever been to Tokyo? I cannot comment on China because I have not been there, but the cost of living in Tokyo, as well as trying to get around the city is ridiculous, as it is so over populated.
Thank you for posting on the thread!

If you are ever there again let me know! Puerto Vallarta also offers great marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna fishing, and some outstanding ziplines if you are into that.

I would like to go back one day. We stayed at the time share that was a 1 minute walk up the road to the Vista Grill. Beautiful view expensive though . We really liked the Riverside Cafe too. We got to know the one manager there at the Riverside Cafe . He asked us to come back on out anniversary and we did for breakfast . He was so nice he gave us our entire breakfast for free. The ziplines i saw a bunch where the restaurants where Predator was filmed.
We also did that one tour Rythyms of the Night that was really good and food was great .

Rhythm Of The Nights is spectacular and the best bargain in Puerto Vallarta! Every guest that visits me I take them to see this show, which is a cirque de soleil type of show that features an outstanding dinner buffet. It takes place on a private island called Las Caletas.
My home is not to far from the Vista Grill. The 2nd pic of the pics posted above of Puerto Vallarta is a pic I took off the top deck of my home.
Yes the ziplines are almost entirely in an area called Mismaloya which is where the movie Predator was filmed as you stated, and it is also where Night Of The Iguana was filmed, and where Richard Burton and Elizebeth Taylor got married.

Yup that is the one . It rained really bad that night but it stopped in time to get the show in. I can picture where you are that boat dock we went too rented a boat for a few hours and just drove around looking around. If you walk i think straight across there was a place that looked just like a Starbucks the symbol looked even almost the same. They had really great frozen drinks at good prices. I broght my wife her present at a jewelers that had like coal carts going through it i think it was the Jewel Mine or something like that. Only thing that got annoying were the people trying to sell you stuff everywhere. Cool Pictures !!!
