You can't prove otherwise... So this is just spinning wheels bud, we're going no where. You believe man and his books, I believe God and His word... That's the difference... and all the real evidence such as giants found in Ohio valley, or all the other relics that were left behind by apostles and so fourth are swept under the rug... Nothing going on over here.., that's all folks, your side owns the universities, they own the world for that matter, so they control what truth is, and what gets published and what doesn't ... Don't be so naive tripper...

His "real life story" is short on proof, long on interpretation....but I was laughing at the interpretation of the first verse of genesis, twisted about to try to match it up to actual scientific theories.

If you say so, just someone else lying to you I guess, why is that funny ? In the beginning " time " , God created the heavens " space " and the earth " matter " ... What other way is there to see it ? Mind you, how old that verse is as well...

1984 was a good read, sad that in our ignorance to be protected from ourselves, we've invited several aspects of the cautionary tale...but we have irrationality to thank for that.

A good read ? Where in the world did that guy get all that information ? This is what I mean your not questioning anything. How did he explain what was coming to a T ? and it came to pass as described ... Irrational ? The book said it would be happening just as it's happening, what was he throwing darts as well and just making it up as he went along and the world read it and making it come to pass ?

I'm willing to believe hendrix, santana etc don't think they're lying...but once again, their belief is not proof of anything except their subjective feelings (as in, "not facts").

Well if your willing to believe something else is going on, sounds like a sprout of faith friend, these people aren't joking around, and they have no reason to lie to you, what do you think of that Marilyn manson guy, or the new satanist chick kesha or whatever her name is ? Do you think they are doing this for attention ?

I've made my choice trip, I know what's real, and God has given me more wisdom on things then I ever thought I'd have. You think it's irrational and I think your irrational for not considering it, so there that is

It's a scam, I've heard with open ears, you are not the first to approach me with this bud, I've actually conversed with guys that dug stuff up, it makes no difference to me. I will never believe it until it's proven, and it's obviously going to stay unproven until you guys take some family of ape put a camera on them for a few thousand years or million lol, and watch them become human... Just not logical bud..

“Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer.
If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man.”

              Best part ever written here
You clearly have no clue about the book and what happened in the world when he wrote it.
Fukk, I'm nearly laughing tears here.
You realize that f.e. the 4 ministries are a parodie of the famous speech from President Roosevelt in 1941, right?
You realize what happened in Nazi-Germany and still happened in the Soviet Union and Spain (only to name a few), exactly in the times he wrote the book (when talking about spying etc etc etc), right?
You realize, that Orwell himself explained in his Essay "Why I write", exactly that his main influence here was the Guerra civil española and the beginning of Franco's reign there, right?
You realize, that he put a lot of his own experiences from working for the BBC (which was controlled by the Ministry of Information) in his book, right?

BUT YEEEEEES, of course the real question should be: "Where in the world did that guy get all that information ?" and "How did he explain what was coming to a T?"

penetrate boy, you are THAT uneducated, that it is almost ridiculous!
And don't get me wrong, I would never make fun of uneducated people. Especially, because they normally know that they have no clue about certain things and just shut the f up instead of talking 100% dumb and laughable bullshit 24/7. But you are a special case here...

So I'll just say this: Yes, Orwell could see into the future. Period. Because all explanations are (as usual) 100% wasted when it comes to you. It is throwing pearls before swine. Seriously.

And just btw: Don't even get me started on your "Theomatics".... I would slap you around on so many levels.... I have a degree in Science of Languages. I know how languages work. You don't. And anyone who claims that there is ANY credibility when it comes to "theomatics" has NO fukkin clue of a)languages, b)mathematics, c)logic fallacies (just btw, I have a degree in philosophy as well and you clearly don't ) and d)the famous "sharpshooter fallacies".

So let me give you a brief summary of your gibberish: "I, brainfreeze, have no clue like whatsoever. I am not able to google. I am not able to understand the most simple explanations and I definitely don't know anything about any science and how it works and why it works."
And I am saying this (again), with respect here, but THAT brainfreeze - unfortunately - is the undeniable truth. Because day after day you confirm every single thing I said here. Peace.

                  Solid.

The response from some will be. "I know" followed by "If you allow Jesus into your heart" followed by some other nonsense..."You will KNOW him too"

Others will be "Do you know your friends love you....or do you believe they love you?" trying to rope you in to admitting you personally can "know" something that can't be measured or fit into a box.

                    Zizou,

Let me begin by saying that I wholeheartedly agree with literally every single thing you said in the above post.

                    But.

Roosevelt died in 1945. Truman was president in 48.

                      Ooops...
Typo pal. Roosevelt's speech was from 1941. In front of the congress, about the "four freedoms" („freedom of speech and religion, from want and fear“)
He wrote the book in 1948.
Btw: At first he wanted to name the book 1948, the year he wrote it. But after some thinking and talks with his editor, they decided to change the last two numbers to put it in the future and make it more interesting.

I didn't know that about 1984. Its funny how differently the work may have been interpreted had the original title remained.

It may have appeared less of a dystopian outlook on the future of personal freedoms / fascism and more of a period piece of which there were so many during that time. Funny how such a small detail can change our entire interpretation of the work.

The real question is, was FDR's wheelchair of the time travelling variety???

It may have appeared less of a dystopian outlook on the future of personal freedoms / fascism and more of a period piece of which there were so many during that time. Funny how such a small detail can change our entire interpretation of the work.

The real question is, was FDR's wheelchair of the time travelling variety???

Yes, but at the same time it doesn't even matter?
He obviously exaggerated whate he witnessed, no doubt. For dramatic and comedic reasons.
But it doesn't even matter whether the title is 1948 or 1984. Because all he says is: Watch out. He described what he saw and witnessed happening in Spain, Germany, Soviet Union, mixed it with a little USA and GB and blew it up like a balloon to make really clear what he meant.

                                  EDIT:
And just btw: Why do you even state that you are "not listening"? Did I ask anywhere if you were "listening"?
Please don't say you thought my sentence with the "ears" in it, had anything to do with your hearing ability....
Hint: I asked whether you had a brain or not. Hence the word BETWEEN. I didn't ask if there is anything WITH your ears. So again: You didn't read correctly. What a surprise. Shocking.

Some of history's greatest men were name callers and laugh-in-your-face-ers.

Does this mean they should not be taken seriously???

Zizou is smarter and more "on" than 99.9% of god fearing folk.

Why does god love some and request the genocide of others?

“This is what the Lord Almighty says... ‘Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’” (1 Samuel 15:3)

The man being the final authority at home isn't any way to build a strong healthy family, just one that puts on a good front but conceals all sorts of issues. You don't have to be a liberal to realize that people are people regardless of their sex chromosomes, and judge them according to their views instead of how many ribs they have

Slavery is an old issue, but also one we've come to realize as unethical. God never seemed to get the memo, or if he did, he sure didn't have anything to say about it...thats mo's point.

Genocide, like slavery, was an ancient reality but is now reprehensible...again, God never saw fit to clarify.

These ancient practices are completely understandable given the time period they're from; God advocating them makes him less loving/caring, more hating/petty, and no better than the humans of the time. Odd how God's views would reflect the views of the humans who made him up "were divinely inspired by him to write some stuff down"

Sure it is... They work as a unit, as one .. but the man should be the final authority under God, if you believe otherwise, that's your option, ... Man and women are different in many ways, not just " sex chromosomes ", they react off emotion and how they feel, especially during " that time of the month ". I'm not a sexist but this is just the way it is, I take my woman's thoughts and opinions in to consideration on any particular situation. I also go to God with it and apply common sense on what's the right thing to do.

This is exactly the kind of crap I mean when I say believing irrational things isn't directly harmful, but encourages people to not think for themselves in a way that leads them to violating others' rights. If you believe women are inferior to men, you don't support equal rights as you should....and all because a book told you it's ok to be sexist

Against all odds, he received 26% of the vote in a four-way race in the Republican primary, while building the largest grassroots volunteer organization in Nevada gubernatorial history. At the height of his campaign, Russo earned an unexpected 47% in the polls as a political outsider, posing a serious threat to his political opponents. After that highly successful experience, he resigned from the Republican Party, and registered as an Independent, believing that both major political parties don’t serve the American public's interest and actually cause great harm. As the result of his support in Nevada, Russo helped mobilize a large enough coalition of people to vote to legalize the medical use of marijuana against the Governor’s opposition. He was geared to run again for the 2002 gubernatorial election in Nevada, but withdrew to battle cancer.
