#42Track your cals at fitday and create a 300-500 caloric deficit daily, focusing on lean protein, good fats (avacados, pine nuts, salmon) and clean carbs. Drink lots of water and lay off the sugar. That caloric deficit is key. 300-500 a day in the deficit will shed the fat at a healthy pace. Incorporate weight training and HIIT (high intensity interval training). Stick with it. It will take time but it is so worth it. Went from 250 about 3 years ago to 175 today (44 pants to 32 reg fit Levis). Had a couple bulk n cut cycles mixed in but all natty athlete here.Comment -

#43very impressive Buzzy......
I admit I was a doubter.... while those earlier pics weren't you, you obviously know your way around the gym.... I could tell you lifted due to some of the lingo you used... and the Madcow workout, that's somthing only pretty hardcore lifters know about/use.....talking about sweep of your hams ect.... I didn't doubt you knew somthing about lifting...but yeah surpassed what I thought you'd look like..
congrats on your hard work bro, keep it up and ignore the haters, I'd say less then 1% of the male population over the age of 25 has a 6 pack....but they all want to....so the 99% hate on the 1% and call them gay, for having dedication to bust their ass, and have a strict diet....Comment -

what kind of carbs do you take in on Sat? do you keep track of how many grams of carbs? too much and you'll spill over and just add fat and water.....Comment -

#49That's a lot of exercise, Diogee. Since you've hit a stalemate/plateau, why not look into Starr's 5x5 and really focus on that caloric deficit. Starr's 5x5 is considered a bulk program but if you utilize it while cutting it will help you maintain muscle and boost your metabolism. Try this and post some before after pics with a 3-month timeframe and I bet you will lose that last 10 lbs. Also, cut out the marathon cardio (long stationary bike) and sub hill training (run up hill, jog down x 20 sets, for example). Get your metabolism going. Gotta slepp. Later, pal!Comment -

#50Whole wheat pasta, Brown rice, beans, veggies, fruit, every 4 or 5 carb-ups a little ice cream...nothing terrible. Dropped from 200lbs to 150 mixing low fat/low carb diets off and on for about 2 years...gained back 30 last winter when out of action with knee surgery. Maybe I just need to eat like a horse back up to around 165 and cut again/repeat.Comment -

oh ok, wow, never knew you got that big.....
yeah sounds like you have been cutting for too long as you said.... the longer you keep restricting kcals that more your body resists and adapts.... you need to switch it up with a good clean bulk....build some solid mass, and then cut down afterwards....
just do the opposite of what buzzy said with cutting, start ADDING 200-500 cals in a week for awhile until you stop gaining, then bump your cals up a 100 or 200 more again.. ect don't go all crazy and gorge yourself...
get a solid full body workout to do 2-3 times a week, working out on the big basic compound movements in a 5x5 fashion.... can give you more details later..... Bill Starr was a great recommendation
google him and mark ripptoe and you'll find some routines that would put mass on a humming bird.
Congrats on the weight loss though bud...Comment -

oh the knee stuff, might complicate some of the movements that are important with those guys...
i'm thinking squats, deads, cleans are out for you with that knee?
those are my fav thingsComment -

#57I do squats and deadlifts (stiff leg about 60% of the time) already. Can only do about 175ish for each. Leg press feels a lot better on the knees but I don't have one currently. The right knee was the worst so I never did either until after my surgery but have never tried cleans. I'll incorporate them to see how it feels.Comment -

#58Read through some Starr 5x5 stuff...doesn't seem like much of a workout but I'll give it a shot since you guys suggested it. Going to do a clean 2800-3000 cal per day clean bulk around 45% carb/35% protein (1.5g per lb of bodyweight), and 20% good fats with a cheat meal factored in once a week. Will also add in 2 45 minute HIIT workouts a week to help keep fat gain a little lower.Comment -

D, it seems very easy on paper...but the point is how hard you work it....
after squats you should wanna puke, and need to lay on the gym floor for ten mins...
my basic routine normally revolves around 4-7 lifts in a workout
squats
deadlifts or cleans, somtimes stiff leg deads
rows or pullups
incline bench
push press or military press supersetted with lateral raises
ab work
grip/forearm work
I work arms directly maybe once every 2 months
do toe raises in the shower for calves,
key is progressively adding weight each week to the bar.
when progress slows down you can even buy these little magnet weights that are like 1 pound that you can attach to a plate on each side...
if you are gonna do HIIT, can you do any running? I love sprint workouts, they'll make your quads and abs grow...Comment -

no doubt.... Seer
Was buzzy saying he was competing???? he's not ready for that at all...
but give the guy props for what he has accomplished... not bad for a guy in his mid 30's better then 99.5% of the population his age and better then 99.9% of posters here at SBR....
but yeah, not sure why he lied about the first set of pics...that's lame
Buzzy is in the top 5 of physiques at SBR, which is kinda like being...... Miss South Dakota I guessComment -
