I didn't own a gun until the MEDIA bashed Wayne Lapierre after he gave a great speech around 5 or six months ago. After that I joined the NRA and made my first purchase before the laws make it almost impossible to get a weapon. Since then I have picked up the 982 for 199.00 and the SD9 (gift) 465.00, joined a gun club and gave up my Gym membership. Don't need to have hugh muscles because they can't stop a bullet. Just look in the back of a lot of pickups and the shot gun hanging in the back window is more than likely a 982. When shit breaks loose I won't need to call 911. It didn't exactly help grandma! She took care of business herself.
Just got a great fatherday/ birthday gift from the wife. Sweet!!!!!

I've got a nice 12 gauge SP for my primary home defense but a few handguns as well. Like the saying goes, if you want something done right the first time, do it yourself.Comment -

#39Ghenghis, You are more than likely right. I'm new with gun buying and just recently a few months ago really started shooting handguns. Originally I was thinking about getting a Glock 19 but after shooting it and the SD9 I decided to go with the SD9. Just a little less recoil and I have big hands so reaching any trigger is not an issue. A friend of mine has both weapons so he thought SD9 was a good choice. What makes the M&P better? I was thinking down the line about an SD40?Comment -

#40you said it was for a home defense? then sd's 8 pound trigger pull should be fine.
i just like the lighter trigger with my m&p when i take it to the range.Comment -

#48It will be used quite a bit at the range. Hopefully I will never use it inside my home but I would have no hesitation or guilt. Its far from wasted money and you would find that out after just one trip to the range.Originally posted by SmokeWasted money you could have gambled with like you will ever use itComment -

#52Your buddy has my respect. I served one enlistment in the Coast Guard and went to Gitmo twice for refresher training with the Navy. Obviously well before it became a prison for terrorists.
