Sherwood Country Club in Los Angeles is a par 72, roughly 7100 yard course with five par 5s and five par 3s with three of each of those on the back nine. It looks like there are about 7 or 8 holes with water in play.

Stimpmeter is said to be 12.5 ft with large greens, around 7200 sq ft of 007 and Tyee Bentgrass...No Poa Annua this week!

Fairways are bentgrass and the rough is ryegrass cut to about 3 inches.

The course needs some accuracy and plenty of golfers in the field fit the bill. Xander, Hatton, Thomas, Simpson, and a host of other golfers come to mind here and it's worth noting that Tiger Woods has had his charity events here for years and knows this course, despite it never hosting a regular PGA Tour event.

I'm going to hold off on some of the shorter odds golfers and take a golfer that is high on my metrics in nearly every category and, because of the field, it doesn't seem to overtly show in price.

When it comes to my recent skill performance metric Viktor Hovland doesn't necessarily shine. He just makes the cut for driving accuracy, falls outside the cut for my average putts per greens in regulation but scores top 10 and 5 in greens in regulation and scrambling.

Skill is one thing but remember I have a recent strokes gained metric as well and this is where Viktor Hovland has shown some bite. Strokes gained off the tee, on the approach, around the green, and from tee to green all have Hovland in the top 10 on my list. He's in the next 10 for my recent strokes gained putting metric and sits at 12 in Total recent strokes gained.

My first 4 strikes this week are on Viktor Hovland with 1 unit on each bet...

Viktor Hovland +3353
Viktor Hovland Top 5 +650
Viktor Hovland Top 10 +300
Viktor Hovland Top 20 +100

The winner is at BM and the other 3 at BAS with BOL also hanging a +300 Top 10 bet.
