There's nothing overrated about how a BMW drives. They're phenomenal cars and the 3 & 5 series cars have been the benchmark for their class for about 20 years.

I do not own a BMW, but I work on them and routinely service a 2006 V10 BMW M5 and that car is freaking amazing.

Even the cup holders in a BMW are made better than they are in any other car.

M5's are sweet. As long as my head isn't sticking through the roof (it very well might be), that's probably the car I would have gotten had I won yesterday's lottery.

OP is an idiot because its obvious he is mad that he cannot afford one, and has probably never been behind the wheel of any modern beemer or comparable. Their top of the line cars are as good as ever. BUT 3 and 5 series are surviving on reputation. The cars they are putting out are not worth the price tag anymore, don't get me wrong they are still VERY nice cars, but if you are looking to make any sort of economically justifiable purchase, it isn't a 3 or 5 series.

And don't bash until you've driven it, but my Volvo s60 drives quite similarly, same 0-60 and HP, and comparably equipped comes in 10k less than a 335xdrive. s60 is also quite a bit larger than a 3 series, much closer to a 5, and don't even get started on comparisons between a 535xdrive and my car, over 20k cheaper.

G37's are quite nice as well, I'm amazed BMW hasn't seen their stranglehold on the luxury sedan market slip, lots of these cars are damn close if not as good now.

Also, anybody driven an x5 recently? That thing drives like a freaking bus, probably my least favorite luxury SUV I have ever been behind the wheel of. Step on the gas a little, and you get nothing, a little more, still nothing, and then you think oh, I've got to give it a little more, and then boom, off like a rocket.

This is complete nonsense. Acura and Audi are both nice cars as well, but in no way built better than a BMW. The same guy that has the 2006 M5 also has an 1988 M6 and the interior is flawless and the car has over 150k miles on it.

I don't get why people would get a huge car note and go into debt just to drive a car to impress people at a streetlight they have never met. What good is owning an expensive car if you are in debt to pay it off and one unexpected expense would sink you financially? I'd rather drive a beater and be financially stable and secure than be in debt up to my eyeballs to live a lifestyle above my means.

This must be a rare rare case in which the guy cleaned his interior and took really good care of it ....the interior leather of a BMW is the cheapest POS leather you'll ever see in a car...they deteriorate within a year...it's just a status symbol and there are many cars that run better and last longer.

Past the saving part pal. Already been through a 2008 BMW for the wife, now she's in the Infinity and I'm in a 2012 truck...both paid for.

Seriously.. Some people are able to get a certified check for $50-$100k, walk in to the dealer and buy the car on the spot, usually get a decent discount too. Do people think EVERYONE who drives these goes into debt to buy them?
