IKEA makes it to easy to steal

So Ikea has self checkout's where you scan your own items. How easy is it to bypass a few items. Pay, take your receipt and walk out. There's no cashier checking or anything to that nature.

Not saying I do/did it. But noticed it yesterday when I went for the first time.

Self-Checkouts are everywhere.....they run off weight and have cameras...not saying thing dont get passed thru....but its cheaper than hiring an employee

i saw someone get caught doing this at a walmart at like 1 am about 5 years back. Woman was scanning some items and pretending to scan others from what i gathered. They have security stations setup inbetween the double door entrances. Im guessing they have computers setup showing what you've scanned as well as cameras in the self checkout to show what you're fake checking out. She made it to the exit where she was greeted by 2 security guards who wouldnt let her take the cart. They didnt stop her but followed her to her car while on the phone with police and gave them her plate number. At first as i was walking out right behind her i almost got involved because two guys just came out of nowhere and grabbed the front of her cart. Since it was super late at night i thought i was witnessing a robbery but I quickly figured it out.

The cameras can look so close (they are better than the casinos) they can verify EVERY item you scan and check it against their computers upstairs. Here's the best part... There's an unmarked Russian Mafia guy with a tire iron in the parking lot that will WHACK your ankles quicker than lightning. DON'T try it bro.
