is this a joke? cheap calories are expensive too. You can buy brown rice and bean for a year with a few bucks, fat free powder milk is cheap too. whole grain bread is cheap. You can find chicken breast 1 pound for 1.5 dollars. whole sale stores have lettuce for 1 dollar. bananas are 30 cents per pound. You can eat with 100 bucks a month which is a 1 day low salary. I had to work 3 days to buy one avocado in cuba. Rent 1500 dollars and food 100 if you want to save. food is not an issue for americans. Rent and medical inssurance are an issue.

Chinese and cuban main dish is rice. Not too many fat people in any of these countries. Life expentancy same or better than usa with a 5% of the medical resources. This is good food to lose weight and be healthy. More than 1 billion people can prove it.

I had to add to this. I'm in the supermarket yesterday and this overweight woman is handing each one of her kids a large dinner roll to snack on. The one kid screams "I want a chocolate cookie!!". She responds "Ok, but only one." I look in the cart and they have nothing but soda and junk food in it.

You want to be fat? Fine. But don't do it to your kids.

This is the answer...but you can't bring it to anyone's attention in a politically correct society as the one we have now. It disgusts me when I see fatasses rolling around Sam's club on the Rascal because they can't walk themselves. Where do they go? Over to the processed food dinners and the pork chop aisle, plus an industrial sized cart load of Kool Aid. It's a combination of not knowing better, and not giving a damn because they will be taken care of by someone else with no personal accountability.

Complacency. For too long, America was solely in charge of the world with no significant threats. No competition made the baby boomers complacent and they passed this attitude onto their children. The same thing that has happened to every successful empire for the entire history of mankind.

That's why it needs to be taught (and emphasized) in school. You don't want to be a nanny state, but people have to learn somewhere or they're just going to do what their parents did.

I'm not saying you can't do any of these, but at least point people in the right direction at a young age.
