    Remember when libs would say
...we know wages are rising but it doesn't matter because the price of gas went up! Ending the Iran deal will create $100 oil(chico..luv ya).

But then Trump spoke up and lashed out at the Saudis and OPEC demanding the price come down.

    Oct 3...... Oil $76.90

    Nov 9.... Oil $59.71

Other POTUS's have bemoaned OPEC. Obama watched oil go to $125 and could do nothing.(or did do nothing)

You have to give Trump credit. OPEC ignored past potus's, even laughed at them.

US crude oil posts longest losing streak in over 34 years, falling for 10th day

      https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/09/oil-markets-crude-supply-global-economy-in-focus.html

OPEC doing an American potus a favor and a voice in the price is a very good thing. They hated Obama and he hated them. Oil hoovered at $100 for much of Obama's term.

you can't be excited that oil prices go down unless you somehow manage to live without profiting from it. that seems impossible. everyone in houston is profiting off it. some of us more than other. good news is we have found a way to get oil cheaper from the shale rock in the Permian basin, so there is less cost associated with the drilling.

the city is blowing up so much, that people are tearing down 700k homes in my neighborhood to build million dollar homes because its cheaper than buying a house in river oaks soon even if you make over 200k you are going to be priced out of houston housing.

Would like to see $60-$65 oil myself.

My neighbor in the woodlands had their house for sale for over 2 years and just kept dropping the price. If oil stays at $55 you won't have to worry about RE prices jumping.

i don't keep up with OPEC unless i pass by it on thehill.com or politico.

i am not sure if dropping oil prices will hurt our economy because of what is going on in the Permian basin, and how much more efficiently we can extract the oil from the shale formations.

I remember the boom in Houston in the "70's, didn't you get a lot of flooding wiping out a lot homes after the hurricane, are they still going to rebuild house's in those flood zones, if they are, seems kind of crazy.

there was a proposition that passed a few months ago.

Shall the commissioners court of Harris County, Texas, acting in its capacity as the governing body of the Harris County Flood Control District, be authorized to issue, in one or more series, bonds of such district in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $2,500,000,000.00 bearing interest at a rate or rates not exceeding the maximum interest rate now or hereafter authorized by law, as shall be determined within discretion of such commissioners court at the time of issuance, and maturing serially or otherwise at such times as may be fixed by such commissioners court not to exceed 30 years from their date or dates, for the purposes of financing flood control projects for the district, including purchasing lands, easements, rights-of-way and structures, and for the acquisition and construction of improvements, including detention basins, channel modifications and other works suitable for use in connection with flood damage reduction, of and on behalf of the Harris County Flood Control District, including but not limited to all costs associated with improvements to hold or convey storm water, including wetlands mitigation, and all additions to such systems and all works, improvements, facilities, interests in property, and contract rights necessary or convenient or in the aid thereof, for such district or in cooperation or by contract with the United States of America or any agency thereof, the state of Texas or any agency thereof, the city of Houston, any other municipality or political subdivision within Harris County, or any county adjacent to Harris County or any municipality or political subdivision within such a county, and annually to levy, to the full extent authorized by the constitution and the laws of the state of Texas, an ad valorem tax of the district upon all taxable property within such district sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds and to create and provide a sinking fund for the redemption of said bonds at maturity?

some people want the county to buy their houses because they have been flood a couple of times in the last few years. other are afraid the highlighted clause will give the county greater eminent domain power to buy up property that the owners don't want to sell. and the housing market is houston has gone up so much, people will be priced out of buy a comparable home.

ok i am done on this site. i got work to do and hours to bill.

TDS affecting republicans now more than Dems

Dems are hopeful again after midterms and thats driving republicons mad.

Dems regained the house, lost one seat in the senate in a year that was gift wrapped for the GOP to pick up 5 or 6 seats, they grab 1

Judges nationwide keeping Trump in check and Trump is now within 2 years of beings ousted

The Dems are gonna take the WH, Senate and hold the house. Liberals generally dont show up for midterms, thats a fact, so 2020 is gonna be tough on the old party

Roy let me give you some advice, enjoy this last 2 years, since the midterms you seemed awfully tilted for a guy that says there was no blue wave. You’re right, there wasn’t. Just dont forget, libs show up in force during generals not midterms

                            November 8, 2016.

Libs threw their very best shot this midterm with record turnout and it wasn't even close to the beating Obama took in his 1st midterm, Clinton's either.

As butt hurt as libs were if this is the best you can do then I'd say you're in serious trouble.

W Bush was just as hated by libs and even lost the pop vote to Gore and cruised to an easy victory over Kerry.

If the economy is good Repubs take back the house and Trump wins easier than he did in '16. That's what history tells us.
