I played a 9 1/2 hour poker session last night without missing a single hand, and some players at the table were talking about their longest poker sessions. My longest is 11 1/2, again without missing a hand, but I know there are degens here that have that beat. What's your longest session?

#2I dont go more than two hours without taking a breather, piss, drink etc
Unless you are worried about missing a BB jackpot, there is no reason to play that long.Comment -

Anyway, the question wasn't asking people the longest they've played without missing a hand. The question asked people what their longest session was.Comment -

I'd love to hear your reasons for playing longer than two hours straight, besides being on a rush or heater.Comment -

#5The main reason is that I play for a living, and it's hard to make a living playing/working only 2 hours a day. Many people have (and many more claim to have) played sessions of 20+ hours. Personally, I think that's ridiculous, but an 8 hour session is fairly manageable. I don't usually play long sessions without missing a hand, but it's not totally uncommon for me either. If you have a lot of B&M poker experience you can pretty much tell when there's going to be a long lull in the action (like if the dealer is inexperienced and a fill is coming), so if you time it right you can go to the bathroom and be back without being dealt out. I also get up a lot if I'm not in a hand and stretch my legs a little before the next deal starts. Doing that keeps me from needing to take a break in most cases.Comment -

#8Played 33 hours about 5 months ago. Overall went in for 5 buy ins somehow got hot after 10th hour and left up 7 buyins overall. Without missing a hand? God I don't know? 6 hours. No point in sitting endlessly. Breaks get me thinking clearly. Have a cigarette, smoke a blunt, take a piss, get a drink, get some dinner, gives you a nice little break. During that 33 hours my stack was probably on the table I probably got hands for 29 hours or so.Comment -

#9I did about 30 hours with a few 5 minute piss sessions along the way. I would also go outside and shoot hoops for about 3 minutes to get rid of some of the tension.Comment -

#18In the long one I got super stuck early and ended up cashing out a marginal loss. I was putting in all those hours at Binion's to qualify for a promotional tournament, and once I qualified I felt no need to stick around longer and win enough to get in the black.
I played another 11 1/2 hour session in which I did miss a few hands here and there and ended up winning a buy-in.Comment -

#2339 hours back in 2004. Only got up to go to the bathroom and smoke. Ate 1 time at the table and drank coffee and water the entire time. Started on a wednesday night at 6pm and got done on friday at 9am. Bought into a 5/10 no limt cash game for 1500 and stood up with 4600. I also tipped out around 300 or so to the dealers and waitresses off the stack. Went home and slept for 10 hours and woke up and thought my back was paralyzed. Played online for 11 hours straight in a tourney, but I put in 60-70 hours in a 7 day week.Comment -
