Full ring simply because I feel more comfortable with the table dynamics. I want to improve my shorthanded play but haven't found the time to work on it.

For NL holdem, 9 person. For limit holdem, 6 person.

I like NL holdem 9 person since it allows me to play tighter and get value off my good hands with more donks at the table.

I like limit holdem 6 person since it allows me to be extremely aggressive which I prefer in limit since you will get steamrolled playing too tight.

It depends. I like playing 6 handed because you playing the player more then the cards it self which can get very aggressive. Whenever i play 9 handed i find myself playing my cards. If you are playing multiple table (6+ table) I rather play 9 handed. Just play your hands.

I love 6handed more action and you have to play a lot more hands, full ring tables normaly are very boring , my best results are in heads up sng but is very bad for your bankroll, on some bad days you can lose up to 10-15 buyins

with antes i prefer 9 handed because it pays off to be more aggressive 6 handed if there's no antes because i have an aggro game and 9 handed with no antes doesnt reward as much

9 handed tables are great for multitabling as a few others have mentioned. I really enjoy six handed play because it allows a more aggressive approach and moves faster, but the variance can be tough to stomach sometimes.

9 handed vs 6 handed in ring games depends on what blind levels I am at. If I want to multi table I usually go for 9 handed. Sometimes at small stakes I will play 6 handed if I am trying to double up quickly

Six handed is better because you can open your game up. It forces you to consider position more and learn how to play from the blinds. A lot of 6 max players don't make proper adjustments to 6 handed play so the games are a little more profitable than full games. You can also see many more hands per hour, and face your weak opponents that many more times per hour.

tournaments are a lot more fun 6 handed, and most players get overaggressive early in the tournament

6 haned is better. The positions at the table that require the tightest play are eliminated and therefore the tightest players are punished. The best players benefit because they have more more hands and more hands in position with which to use their skills.

Very insightful views everyone. Personally I prefer to play 9 handed tables as the blinds take longer to reach me. I can/have to play much tighter, not having/able to be so aggressive as I do and am on 6 handed tables. The down side to 9 handed tables is that, as was said before in this thread, there are so many fish. You better have the hand if you bet, better than a pair, and even if you do, they will draw to suckout on you. That has been my general experience on 9 handed tables, but I still prefer them over shorthanded 6-player tables.

                            Strictly 6-max.

More aggressive, faster going game. Better players will exploit money out of fish and worse players easily. Less opponents to study.

I'm a winning player and have absolutley lost my shirt at these double-ups. I'm playing turbo, don't know if that makes a difference. All-In fest after 10 minutes. No skill involved.

That's right, you get relatively higher RakeBACK..but the % stays the same, because you pay more rake as well.

I like shorthanded limit (between 4-6). Many players don't transition well from the typical 8-9 person table. People constantly overvalue hands and play out of position because of the fast action. I have a few DVDs on the subject from Expert Hold'em and they are really good. Plus in a shorthanded game you can 3 or 4 bet fairly regularly and begin to dominate a table.

While I agree Full Table players tend to be nitty. I don't nessecarily think you are less skilled or expreienced if you play there - many people capitalize on the facts you laid here and make tons at the Full Tables because they know not many "experienced, skilled and aggressive" players are playing there.

More aggressive, faster going game. Better players will exploit money out of fish and worse players easily. Less opponents to study.

I prefer full tables at small stakes. Can normally just play tight-aggressive by the book and walk away with a few extra beans.
For MTTs, I prefer shorthanded poker.
