Day 1 of the Cup saw Team USA dominating. Interestingly enough, Team and MVP is so far tied between Shogun and Jedi, who are also tied with points during qualification (first tiebreaker). As a result, we had to go to the second tiebreaker (bobbywaves folds during cup). The result (58 folds, even number means shogun wins the tiebreaker for Team and Field MVP, causing a massive shift for most teams (except spider's team, which has both Jedi and Shogun!). Quick note: The Team and Field MVP has a huge effect early on (8 points for day 1), becomes less dominating as the cup goes on. I don't think last year's winning team had the MVP, but still had a healthy lead at the end.

The daily points are awarded based on the totals to date, instead of the performance for just that day. You guys both had the MVP as well as 4uk, and your other 2 guys were responsible for 6 points combined to that point. Mpasch posted his team first, so he won the tiebreaker.

tdb, please explain how mp can be a point behind me on day 1, outscored by 2 on day two, and we have the same mvp bonuses, and yet tie. I had 3 wins (tot 6 pts) on day 2, he had one win and two seconds on day 2 (total 4 pts), and we both had shog as mvp pts (did he win the tiebraker with jedi for mvp--as I have both on my team) (6), and no other bonuses.... were mvp bonuses paid on day 1, how about day 2? seems like I'd have another 12 from day 2. six wins plus six for shog mvp's on team/field.... = 22
