I am making one of the hardest decisions I have ever made in my lifetime. On May 3^rd most of you will be furloughed for an indefinite period. You should immediately file for unemployment.
I believe, after having lengthy discussions with my Chief Financial Officer, Payroll Manager, outside Certified Public Accountant and company attorney, by being furloughed, you will be better off. You will receive more money from both the State and Federal Government than what you are currently receiving from the South Point. I will continue to pay your health benefits through July 31^st. I will also cover your health payroll insurance deductions during this period. All other benefit payroll deductions will cease after May 3^rd.
Filing an unemployment claim during this crisis can be difficult. The Human Resource Department, Payroll Department and Benefits will be open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday to assist you. However, you will have to call in. You will not be allowed in the building due to government restrictions.
Some people will be offered full time employment (5 days a week) in order to maintain the South Point. This will be at their option. Those that choose to work will receive PTO credit and two meals a day.
Also, as we reopen, you may be hired back as business increases. Unfortunately, it may take several months to get back to full employment due to the lack of business. The good news about being furloughed instead of being laid off is that you will not have to be reprocessed as a new employee but your unemployment benefits will remain the same.
Any employee, who wishes to resign or is not brought back, will receive any accumulated PTO due them.

That's bc no paper checks have been sent yet. This is a tiered system. If you have dir dep on file with IRS you should've got your payment around the 15th. The first actual paper checks get mailed on this Fri. the 24th. If you had Agi of less than 10K you get it then. The following Fri. between 10,001 to 20K. On and on until they hit max payout. So if you had like 70k agi, it's gonna be a couple months. They're taking care of the neediest first.

You might of fukked around and waited too long. The first round of checks is already being printed right now. They said if you didn't submit your info in time, that you get the last week of checks which is like the first week of Sept.

Lol. I bet there are a lot of deadbeats on here that won't get a check at all bc they owe back child support. Also some of the people that got their dir dep already had it levied by the banks or collections for past debts owed to the same banks. I've been reading news stories and posts on social media about it. There are some real deadbeats out there.

I read an article today that the checks are being sent to the low income people first and the higher end last. Just reporting what I read:


Beginning the week of April 20, the IRS also will begin issuing paper checks on a weekly basis to individuals who have not provided *************** information but for whom IRS has a mailing address. Paper checks will be issued at a rate of about 5 million per week, which could take up to 20 weeks. The checks will be issued in reverse “adjusted gross income” order—starting with people with the lowest incomes first.

Those who have not filed a tax return in the past two years because they have no tax liability or have not provided direct-deposit information to the IRS through its new portal can expect to receive a paper check to their last known address.
The IRS will begin issuing these checks on April 24, according to an internal memo reviewed by The Washington Post, and prioritize low-income Americans.
Checks for people with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $10,000 or less will be sent out around April 24.
