#8spot on... if you're a penetrating idiot!
he's doing the TPP (with the help of you penetrating oysters BTW) for corporate interests.
he did iran because it's a better option than war (which is why you droolers reject it -- because you want war).
the fact that you support keystone proves what an idiot you are. it's a shitty deal that only serves to enrich the koch brothers while destroying the environment. it's not a 'jobs' bill. it won't lead to 'lower gas' prices
In Keystone’s weirdonomics, the pipeline would actually increase prices of gasoline for much of the country, according to at least three studies that have looked into it. Keystone would divert crude from Midwest refineries to Gulf Coast refineries, where it would then be shipped to more expensive markets. Bypassing heartland refineries could drive up prices at home.
For people living in the Midwest, Great Plains and Rocky Mountains, it could add 20 cents a gallon to the price at the pump.Comment -

#9This really sucks balls for Canada . We here in Alberta have all ready lost 36 000 energy jobs in the past ten months, were in very bad shape . This pipeline would have gave it s someone where to send our oil . We usually have about 400 drilling rigs going , were down to 176 today . Fuk the states

#11KLC, I'll side with your opinion. Makes sense.
Creating 40k legitimate jobs sounds great. Oh, wait, people getting off their ass to do some manual labor? Not gonna happen.
What is the possible downside of this deal? Might actually cut down on govt handouts?Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

The construction phase, though, is expected to take only one to two years. After construction, the pipeline would employ a lesser number, primarily for maintenance. The total number of long-term jobs: about 50.The State Department report puts the total at 42,100 jobs, though the definition of a job in this sense is a position filled for one year. Much of the construction work would come in four- or or eight-month stretches. About 10,400 seasonal workers would be recruited for construction, the State Department said.
When looked at as "an average annual job," it works out to about 3,900 jobs over one year of construction or 1,950 jobs each year for two years.Comment -

#15If you'll look at my original post, you'll see that I said they were temporary jobs. It's no different from the "stimulus" plan Obama set forth with in his first term, except the jobs would be coming from the private sector. Employs a number of workers for a little while, and provides income tax dollars for the government.Comment -

#26You hypocrite. You're all for spending on infrastructure improvements because they would add jobs, but then shoot down this infrastructure improvement because the jobs are only temporary? Newsflash: all construction jobs are temporary until the job finished!Comment -

#28infrastructure adds to economic growth, which makes us all richer. roads and bridges need to be maintained so plenty of those jobs are basically permanent.
keystone makes the koch brothers even richer, penetrates over property owners, and wreaks havoc on the environment, all for 2k temp jobs and 35 permanent one. penetrate that!
and you droolers are supposed to be the party of 'property rights'? LOL!!!!!!!!!Comment -

#31This is not an infrastructure improvement at all, it is basically a cash grab for the Koch bros. The jobs are temporary, the pipeline contributes nothing to the US economy (aside from the temp jobs). The pipeline only benefits the companies shipping oil from Canada to the gulf.Comment -

#32Panties in a bunch up in here.
How about eminent domain? Would you want a pipeline in your front yard against your will?
How about the pipeline going over water a few states use? What if there's a leak, who cleans it up? Not Canada.
Not the oil companies. Local authorities will.
That oil is thick nasty shit. The pipeline will have to be heated to keep it flowing. Ever see an overhead shot of where
they are getting the oil? Deforested, flat, nasty shit everywhere. The sands are thousands of square miles.
Jobs? More jobs would be had, for a longer period if it goes by rail and by truck.
Bring our prices down? Think again, we will not be using the by product. Foreigners will.
Have no worries though, your next asshat Pres will put it through.Comment -

#33Rkelly shut your mouth or think before you speak at least . I live where the oil sands are . There is only a few mines that do above ground oilseeds projects . 95% of the oil sands is drilled for . No deforestation needed dumb ass . Please do research first .
