Good luck Nash, Wacha did great last night but Estevez cannot close games at this time. They knew this but ran him out there anyway. His velocity is way down, I was pissed because everyone knew how that 9th was going to turn out.

    Big Dumper last night
    0 for 3.
    Struck out three times.

    Grochet was brilliant
DeLauter hit two taters. The hype on that kid all off-season was huge.

    KC Ragans
    ATL Sale
    That's a nice matchup.

All the baseball (except for one 4 pm game) is up against NCAA hoops.
(I'm going to be busy tonight with UConn at 9 pm)

Crochet just pitched a 1-2-3 first inning on four pitches.
    A four-pitch inning, that's Greg Maddux territory.

He was PISSED, Skenes threw (I forgot who was at bat) a 2000 mph (that's hyperbole) fastball with anger. I caught for many years, I know what Skenes was feeling.

I like the kid, my guy Cole Ragans goes in 20 mins.
Ragans is a bad ass stud.

Yes, I bet Witt Jr to win MVP, Ragans to win CY and Jensen to win Rookie of the year in AL.. im OK with their rotation, im concerned about their bullpen and Power in outfield. Need the kid to come thru in right and we will need something out of Marte or Thomas.

    Bubic is legit.
Their rotation is good with Ragans as the ace.
Quatraro moved Garcia to leadoff. I love that.
Bobby Witt in the 2 hole will see better pitches to hit now with Garcia up top. and Vinny Pas behind Witt,
Bobby Witt is set up for an explosive season.

Funny u mentioned that team. I had my biggest win ever on that team. I bet one team across the board each season. By that I mean, to win WS, to win league, to win division and to go over the season win total. I rode KC that year, had them at (+2700) to win WS. Ironically im riding them this season as well.

I stand corrected, Oakland won in '89. Thanks for that.
    But you get my point.

The 2015 Royals were my all-time favorite team.
That bullpen was a gift from God,
Those three were untouchable all season.

Oneil Cruz is a converted shortstop turned centerfielder.
He's horrible in center; he cost Skeenes at least three runs.
The problem here is that Cruz's stick is valuable.
He can hit for average, and he has speed to burn.
He's also good for 20+ HRs, too.

The Pirates signed Ozuna to be a primary DH, so you can't DH Cruz.
Pirates have a problem here: the up-the-middle defense is shaky.
Both Cruz and Ozuna are death on two legs defensively.

Two things you need to reach the postseason are pitching and up-the-middle defense.
It doesn't matter if you have a lineup with 40 HR thumpers; you're not winning anything without that pitching and defense.

Did Mark McGwire and Canseco win it all in Oakland?
No, they got beat by pitching, with the Nasty Boys.

1984 Tigers started 35-5 with pitching and four up the middle gold glove winners.
(That's not true, Parrish, Whitaker, and Trammell all won gold, Chet Lemon did not, but should have)

Wow, Skenes did not even make it out of the 1st inning....That was not on my bingo card.

Looking at Tampa Bay -131 as I think they are better than the pundits think and not very high on Liberatore who is on the mound for STL.

Not going to bet it but Detroit-126 is about as low a price as you will get on Skubal all year. Padres have also not been good vs LHP in recent years.

    Thanks, fellas.
MLB is a grind, you guys know this.

My approach has always been to spot-play dogs or short faves, and by all means, I stay away from laying heavy lumber.

I refuse to lay -200 or greater (unless the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is toeing the rubber)

I will, from time to time, use a -180 favorite with another favorite in a parlay, but that's about it.

Best of luck, and thank you for dropping by.

How many times are these talking head broadcasters going to mention NETFLIX?
It's as if Netflix offered Hunter Pence a grand every time he mentioned them.

started a topic Nash 2026 MLB

    Nash 2026 MLB

    Opening night.
    And so it begins

    SF Giants +102
Logan Webb is stingy at home.
He's a high ratio K machine with a nasty curve/slider that induces a lot of ground balls.
The only regular in the Yankee lineup that dings Webb is Judge, but then again, Judge dings everybody.
I'm also a sucker for home bow wows.

    Giants +102 is my play.

    Best of luck, all.
