Internet TV stick hook ups to your smart TV is the way to go if you are trying to save a buck and don't care about the all the channel current sports and movie access.. Bottom line..

I get it now!! I've seen it all... Got money and want the easy go then get Directv and pay.. You will see it all and with DVR GENIE recording capabilities with every channel.. It's unmatched.. You are looking at $120 a month with Directv with everything..

I'm sticking to Directv.. Spoiled like that. .. Just call in every 3 months to reduce that monthly bill as it will grow.. Threaten cancellation with Directv and that usually does the trick..

Firesticks are very powerful because of all the free stuff, basically every channel in world for $20

Simple to install under 5 minutes any app

Quality will never be as good as traditonal tv

Streaming cannot be...also if streaming on TV best to have hardwire internet connection not wireless

I'm streaming just fine on a wireless router connection. It doesn't matter as long as you have a superior router that isn't getting clogged with a million computers jumping on it at one time. I have 6 connections on my secure router now - 2 Directv genie DVR's, my cell phone, 2 laptop computers and now Roku. Sometimes a few more with company logging on also when visiting.

My router doesn't have any hipcups or problems what so ever compared to my desktop which is hard wired. Roku streams fast and perfectly in my home thru my wireless router. I haven't experienced one stop and start or stall moment when streaming tv so far. I'm actually impressed with internet streaming TV and options in that regard.

You just gotta work thru the Roku/Firestick menu and find stuff to watch which is a pain in the assss compared to auto watching with Dish/Direct TV channel guide with the remote and DVR capabilities.. It's night and day when comparing. Directv far more superior.

No with firestick/Roku you gotta enter into what ever app to find the shows or movies off the main menu, it's a pain and it takes work. It's not like a directv tv guide.

Maybe a minute or minute and half is what I'm seeing. You go to menu and click app channel, find channel and show, load it, the show you pick has to load then to. Then when watching the show you choose you are then forced to watch commercials, can't pause the show to go take a piss with internet TV either.

It sucks but it's free until you wanna start paying for channel apps I guess.. For free it works for the low class and broke.

I have it now and I doubt I will ever watch anything on it except for ESPN + and or maybe a football game if it streams for free. I don't have the patience to watch commercials with movies or shows. If I wanna look up an old movie and call it up on demand I might do that and watch that on Roku.. That's a cool feature that Directv doesn't offer. That's about it though.

With directv you can look up the old movies, search and find when it plays again in the future and set the DVR to record it. Can't watch it immediately on the fly like Roku streaming. That's the best feature with the free internet TV apps. On demand viewing.

I'm with you on this.. Directv and League passes with the genie DVR's is the only way to go!!!

Directv is still the best option for watching tv and sports especially if you are degen gambler. .

Guys Jibbs is right. Roku remote controls do not have #'s. Every time you want to watch a channel you have to open up your channels and scan across til you find the one you want. Takes a lot more time than you would think and becomes very tedious. Unless it was the very last channel, there is a button for that but Roku functionality is absolute shit for college football. Plus DirectTv you can have more than one game on your screen at a time. Yes Roku is ok for a primetime broadcast if you have the upstream but college Saturday and March Madness are garbage on Roku.

Alexis voice command with ROKU and FIRESTICK is the only option I see that is superior to Directv.. Can ask to locate a show or app to stream by name "Alexis find..." Voice command is cool through the firestick remote when you hold down the Alexis Voice button.. I'll give it that much credit but only that much.. Still Directv far superior..

I can watch on iphone and ipad thru the GSE IPTV or IPTV Smarters app, windows using Smarters, and TV using Apple TV. Had no problems last season with college or NFL thru Nitro. You get a login and you're set.
