#106Tornado's hitting all over the damn place. Another one just hit Katy. This storm is just sitting over Houston. Streets are flooded damn near everywhere. It is very, very bad right now. I've never seen this much rain in a 24 hour period. My rain gauge has over 25 inches since last night. FukkkComment -

#115Sister in law lives south of us by the Brazos river it's really bad down there just got off the phone. It's crazy some areas inside Houston close to UT Med are high and dry but others are underwater and getting worse.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeTornado's hitting all over the damn place. #117Man, this is some really bad stuff. Entire neighborhoods underwater and help is nowhere to be found. Thousands of people trapped in cars and homes. When your house floods 3, 4 feet, you have to get out so you don't get electrocuted. I just heard a guy crying that 3 families with small children waited all night for help but it never came. 1 HPD boat and there's hundreds of people that have to be rescued in that area. Heart breaking. The KHOU TV station is under water.Originally posted by itchypickleSister in law lives south of us by the Brazos river it's really bad down there just got off the phone. This entire city is like a scene from twister. Tornado's touching down all over the area. I've never seen anything like this in my life. What is weird is that you see one house perfectly okay and other houses on the same street totally flooded and damaged by wind. I'm thinking it's mini twisters that are popping up all over the place. Many folks near me have had wind and water damage. I haven't gotten any wind but the water is insane. My water gauge is up to 28" in 48 hours and the rain won't stop.Comment -

#120Sucks it's supposed to just hover for days still. SJRA on top of the lake levels so far it's choppy but hasn't really risen much that I can see from yesterday so glad they are working on it. Stay safe....it's let up here for now but know it won't last. Still got power so that's always a plus.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeMan, this is some really bad stuff. #121Stay safe Itchy. A lady just lost her life up the street from me near Frostwood elementary. She was in her car when water rushed in and she got out and drowned. Not sure why she was out in the first place.Originally posted by itchypickleSucks it's supposed to just hover for days still. The city is asking for people that have boats and high water able vehicles to help rescue people. FEMA shipped thousands of generators that we don't need while no one thought of rescue boats.Comment -

#126Maverick - please don't even think about trying to get out of your place unless you have 3/4 feet of water in your house and there's concern of being electrocuted. It's scary to have water in your house but it's still the best place. Turn off the breaker to your house if you have to and sit tight. The city is asking people with boats to help rescue the thousands stranded. 911 is down, so forget about it. Even some hospitals are being evacuated, so not a good time to have a heart attack. #127Hurricane hit land Friday. Reduced to a tropical storm almost immediately but the storm is just hovering South Texas moving into Louisiana. Houston got hammered with numerous rain bands and countless tornado's. Like scenes from the movie Twister, tornado's are popping up all over the city. I've never ever seen this many tornado warnings in my life and this area is not known for tornado's. What next? Sharknado?Originally posted by RudyRuetiggerwhen is it going to hit land???Comment -

#130I've got a Jeep so better off than most.....basically anything south of 290 is screwed from what I'm gathering. Not about to try and go south unless necessary I'll gladly help but don't want to get in the way. Talked to some Natl Guard guys who were staging off 105 an hour ago and getting their plans. Ton of help is around but in a city of millions especially in the outer areas you know ....45 is a no go it's a damn mess.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeStay safe Itchy. Schools are closed for the week obviously and I know several who were just up around Shepherd and Cleveland area gasing up and headed out of the area. Guy that works for me lives over in Caney Creek by Conroe and said 1484 and Airport have some washouts so pretty much those houses are on an island now...not going anywhere for days.Comment -

#138A few years ago in Oklahoma, a pretty big tornado was rolling through the city. Weathermen told people to evacuate. Well, a bunch of people listened, highways were at a standstill, and a bunch of people caught in that traffic died.Originally posted by BadNinaTechnically, Houston's mayor said they didn't need to, that evacuating would cause more issues.
This storm is playing out exactly how they predicted it would.
A few months later, another tornado was about to hit and the weathermen changed their tunes really and told everyone to stay put and NOT to evacuate. They never apologizedComment -
