How's this guy running? 20 pts to the first poster to guess what he had...

I'm playing 1-2 NL Hold em and have close to $400 in front of me. Guy under gun raises to $10, 2 callers, and I call on the button with 8 9 offsuit hoping for trips or a straight.

Flop comes 8 3 8 two diamonds and a heart. Bingo. Preflop raiser bets $20, other 2 fold, I just call hoping he puts me on a flush draw. Turn is the 2 of hearts. He bets $20 again, I just call still wanting him to put me on diamonds.

20 points to the first poster who can guess the river card and what he was holding. He got all my money by the way.

Then 5 minutes later the same guy wins the free drawing in the poker room for $600.

Or my guess is he just had two hearts and rivered a heart to have a flush to beat your trips.

i thought about going with the runner, ruuner heart. it would make the most sense for OP to be posting this and with the raise and continuation you would think it was AK not knowing the way the dude was playing before this hand.

Yeah he was getting my stack no matter how I played that hand. I felt good about the river though at the time.

bummer, trapper gets trapped, but you were behind the whole time and the river 3 just sucked you in even more.

I know I was behind the whole time, but that river 3 made only one possible hand to beat me, quad 3s. Chances are pretty slim. Him winning the drawing shortly thereafter was like a kick straight to the sack.

No, i'm not complaining how he played or that it was a bad beat. I'm saying my luck really sucked on this hand, and this guy is on a roll.

89 off suit is asking for trouble unless you are an extremely exceptional player it is a tough hand to play. So many ways to get assed out when you think you have a winner.

I had KK once at the casino on $1/$2 flop KQ2 (2 spades) turn Q of spades (all I can think about is Vegas and the fcukin' Mirage). He bets I shove and flip my cards Phil Hellmuth style thinking he's called already. He looks at the board and studies, I'm like muck the flush I just saved you some money. He says "Ohh I'm not folding" and flips over QQ. 1 outed on the turn

How did you lose your stack? Are you that bad of a player?

You called 20 on the flop and turn. On the river hes going to have most likely made a value bet of 35 on the river. After the board pairs with a weak kicker depending your opponent you can raise to about 105 here. He will then make it 275. How can you not fold here? You would only be in the hand for 155 here and you called off your stack all in here? Im just speculating but this was easily avoidable.*

This is a standard call late in position especially with 3 to the hand already. Standard raises in 1/2 is 12-14 bucks.*

I'm wondering if you misread or didn't read what the board was. 8 3 8 2 3. I have an 8. On the river he bets 100 into a $120 pot. I min raise to $200, hoping he is still putting me on a flush draw that didn't hit and I'm desperately trying to steal the pot. He puts me all in for about $120 more.

If I am supposed to not raise because my opponent could have the one hand that beats me, quads with one pair on board, or if I am supposed to fold to a reraise of $120 more there, than I
