What world are you guys living in where the Cubs don't make the playoffs? Is this your first time watching an MLB season? EVERY TEAM goes through droughts. They'll win the divison, but even if they don't they'll be 1 of 2 wild cards. Stop overreacting. Or take your fandom out of it.

Playoffs don't matter neither does a wildcard berth. This team was the WS fav by a mile and they built a massive lead so yeah it's WS or bust

Like Archie says the pressure is getting to Maddon and he's ageing faster than George W in that Cubs uniform. The curse will do that so will your team getting exposed as the season went on starting with that Cardinals series. Even if they get to the playoffs no way they can hang with the Elite pitching staffs in the Playoffs as the Cubs staff is attrocious. Just look at what the Mets did to them last year

No, it's not. This is a team with a young controlled core and more talent in the pipeline. And they will have financial flexibility. This team wasn't built for this year alone. It was built for the next 3-5 seasons. It is not WS or bust.

I didn't say playoffs was even an accomplishment. But pavy was saying how if Maddon misses playoffs he's fired when there's just no chance they miss the playoffs.

MLB playoffs like with NFL playoffs is all about who gets hot. Best team doesn't always win. Any team that gets into the playoffs has a chance to win it all. The Dodgers almost took out the Mets. And was it the Astros that blew the series against the Royals? That's the 2 world series teams right there... Gotta get hot and need some luck to win the world series.

Even his last game his command was terrible. Walks and he'd get bailed out by his amazing defense. Lester is the only ace on that team, if he goes down they have no shot. Arrieta is done.
