If everyone applying for the same jobs you do has any kind of a college diploma it definitely puts you at a disadvantage but since I don't know where you are applyng for I can't tell you if you are under-qualified or over-qualified for the job.

I would get rid of the Casino job....hate to be blunt but you did nothing there...or at least thats what it reads like...I like the home shopping job but you have to make it more actions oriented...For example, manage consumers side of over 500,000 dollars in sales. Responsible for follow up etc.

Your objective shouldn't be to land an entry-level customer service position - you're selling yourself short and looking like you don't really care about moving up the ladder. Too vague and generic.

I would drop that section and explain my career plan in my cover letter instead.

ya, Bobby, I got to be honest and say your resume is definitely not helping your cause. Pavy is right, college diplomas put resume's on the top of the list. But you have to make your resume more professional. Bobby, what you need is a cover letter to go with these applications. Explain to the business in that letter why you think you are qualified and how you could impact thier business. A good cover letter will also get you to the top of the pile. Just a suggestion! Good Luck to ya Bobby.

Not trying to be a dick but resumes are over rated period unless they shine with great positions and schooling, all jobs are better won by getting out there and meeting people face to face and being to the point, friendly, funny and determined. personality is the reason people without Harvard degrees get hired, there will always be someone with more experience or education so to get that spot you have to present yourself as a winner who is going places and who people like

Bobby your experience needs to be in past tense like "placed" not "places". That is one of your major mistakes, employers definitely look at word usage on a resume. You also need to find ways that you were successful at your previous and what made you VALUABLE to the company. Just listing what you did there doesnt mean shit, you immediately fall right into the middle of the pack. You want to say "exceeded expectations by upper management by....."

I think the Objective section is a good idea. However, I prefer something like this:

                                    Statement of Purpose
To obtain a position in customer service where I can leverage my experience to date and continue to learn and progress my career as a customer service professional.

                                    Something like that.

Also, it is not a problem that you didn't go to college. There are plenty of places where a college degree is not required and is generally over-qualification. Customer service is one of these areas.

JJ has a point. Any kind of manual labor job will pay better and keep you in much better shape than a shitty phone clerk position.

I would get rid of the Casino job....hate to be blunt but you did nothing there...or at least thats what it reads like...I like the home shopping job but you have to make it more actions oriented...For example, manage consumers side of over 500,000 dollars in sales. Responsible for follow up etc.
i really don't know what to put to make it more actions oriented, i put my daily actions on my resume
