#37The only thing that is obvious is if 8 equal teams start a season they all have a 7-1 chance to win the ring. With 30 equal teams starting a season every team is 29-1 to win a ring. Now that is obvious.Comment -

ask any nba player, past and present, besides kobe, and they'll say they would want to play with lebron james over michael jordan. why? because michael jordan was a fukking ball hog.Comment -

#41Look at it competitively, with only 8 teams each team should be great, 30 teams waters down talent.Comment -

#47The argument is that with less teams and not an equally lesser player pool there are more allstars caliber players per team. I think it holds some weight but I also think that a 6 team playoff with 1st round byes makes it easier for teams to repeat with out the added wear and tear.
Truthfully quantifying different era's vs different era's is impossible. When comparing GOATs the way to simplify that is to compare that players success and dominance over the era in which they played.Comment -

#49jordan makes his team play better game of basket.
lebron makes his team play better with him in a basket ball court.
so if both leave the team, the chicago team learned play basketball even without jordan.
but the heat and cavs team looking at the guy with the ball and wondering where lebron is.
and realize he's not lebron so they have to learn again play team game again without lebron.
that's why chicago team went to conference semi finals when jordan left.
and cavs and heat team don't make playoffs. although heat team was because of injury of bosh and wade.
obviously lebron can't teach the game of basketball for shyt!Comment -

#50Not almost, he did it. He was great, doesn't mean league not that competitive, and Wilt was a beast, just a great night where all the stars aligned, bad ft shooter who that night hit 28 of 32.Comment -

#51Maybe Duncan but because of longevity. Two versions of Timmy. had we seen the Duncan who entered the league long enough before injuries, that Duncan would have been top 3, prob greatest player of all time.Comment -

#53let's say barkley or malone had 6 or 7 championship rings, would your opinion change? of course it would.Comment -

#55Depends on a lot of things. Im talking from individual talent standpoint and some other things. So if MJ always played on sucky teams and never made it past the conference finals, but Bron ended up with four rings, if I felt MJ was still a better player then that's just me.Comment -

#56I get that, but it still doesn't make it tougher to win a title. Makes the guy guarding you on a nightly basis a little better but that holds true for every match up on the court. Might make everything more competitive but certainly doesn't make it tougher to win a title.Comment -

#57imo, oscar robertson wasn't even that good and he almost averaged triple double. that just shows you the level of competition during that era. and since someone mentioned it was harder back in that era to win championships, i'm saying bullshit.Comment -

#64Lol you kept saying rings matter and I ask a question you run lol. You say Oscar almost averaged triple double(he did it ), said he wasn't that good, said league wasn't competitive, so I ask about league during Magic's time, Magic almost averaged triple doubles numerous years and you run lol. Just trying to understand your mindset, not understanding it.Comment -

#70Evidently you don't know shit about basketball. Kareem say that he is the best player he ever played with or against. I would value kareem opinion more than yours or mine.Bird said he grew up idolizing oscar. Only problem with oscar is he played when it was racist and he loved the white women. Not kosher in the 60's.Comment
