I wonder why Matt was shooting at the camper? Was he going to try to shoot the tire out and then while the driver repaired it come upon them and take their camper or have then drive him out?

It sounds like the plan to capture Sweat is to set up the perimeter and wait for him to either come out of the woods or starve. These guys both could have made it if they had been smarter because it wasn't the authorities that found them. It was them committing other crimes like breaking in to cabins that led them to them.

FBI should have a singular professional spokesman, keep the locals off TV in these situations. It really makes a difference now. The way you handle a case in the public's eye is almost as important as if you solve it or not.

Well let me say this, if Sweater is not already 6 feet under, he is a resourceful guy to have either made the decision to split up right before Leonardo Di Vinci got capped or he scrambled just before and has bought himself some serious time. I have underrated the whitey a little too much here I think.

I dont think the police want to risk him shooting their dogs or them if he's out there in the woods by himself. They think that if he's surrounded and contained within the perimeter, he'll eventually give up. But they probably think its too dangerous for them to go into the woods and risk getting shot at. These law enforcement pussies would have never made it in Vietnam.
