#113If any place deserves a competent in team in sports it is Charlotte. We are dying over here and it never looks bright.
Now we are stuck with temperamental can't get the job done Cam Newton. If only we got Andrew Luck or RG3...
Bobcats are a complete mess and I wouldn't even know where to begin rectifying that organization. It's sad because a lot of the fans have stayed loyal through the misery. Getting rid of Biyombo and Mullens would be a great start.Comment -

#121The Maloof family that owns the Sacramento Kings has reached an agreement to sell the controlling interest in the franchise to a Seattle group intent on moving it in time for next season.
Where are those optimistic Kings fans now? Deal is done. I just wish we weren't inheriting such a garbage roster. Thanks Sacramento.Comment -

NEW YORK-
Billionaire business magnate Ron Burkle met with NBA Commissioner David Stern in New York Thursday, the league confirmed to FOX40 Friday.
The two met in Stern’s office for two hours.
Burkle’s name is one Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson mentions regularly as someone that’s possibly interested in buying the Sacramento Kings.
His meeting with Stern was reportedly about buying the Kings and building a new arena where the Downtown Plaza mall currently sits, according to the Bee.
Mayor Johnson hinted Thursday that a new arena didn’t necessarily have to be in the downtown rail yards, a location he pushed hard for before the arena deal with the Maloof family fell through.
JMA Ventures recently bought the Downtown Plaza and has expressed interest in possibly using the site as an arena.

#125Hey untied looks like your gonna be sipping coffee watching the kings you fck-boy
Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is declaring Saturday a win for keeping the Kings.
Johnson took to Twitter to announce he "officially closed out [a] deal" with Ron Burkle, Mark Mastrov and Vivek Ranadive to build a new arena for the Kings at Downtown Plaza Mall.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Johnson says the city of Sacramento has reached a $448 million deal for the new arena with a private investment group, $228 of which will be covered by the city.
Johnson made the announcement in a string of tweets Saturday afternoon:
I’m pleased to announce an agreement with Burkle-Mastrov-Ranadive group on a public-private partnership to build a new ESC at Downtown Plaza Mall. Consistent with our core tenets, the deal avoids new taxes, protects the city on the Kings loan, and ensures no net impact to the general fund. For a comparable investment to the 2012 deal, we've secured more private investment & greater economic development potential at the new site.
The new ownership, historic in its reflection of our city's diversity, will invest up to $1 billion in Sacramento -- a strong sign of confidence in our market. They will also make a 35-year commitment to keep the Sacramento Kings right here where they belong!
Once again, we're proving the strength of our market -- both as host to an NBA team, but as an emerging region with global potential. I'm excited to talk further about the deal with my Council colleagues and the public.Comment -

You're an idiot.
Pile all your pennies together Sacramento, it won't make a difference.
Your stadium will be empty, maybe you can fill it with your tears.

#138Maloofs Favor Seattle Deal For Kings
NEW YORK -- The battle for the future of the Sacramento Kings has evolved into a struggle between the team's current ownership and NBA commissioner David Stern.
The Maloof family, which has owned the majority of the team since 1999, is attempting to force through a deal that would move the Kings to Seattle and land them the most money in selling their shares.
Stern isn't openly on the opposite side of the issue. However, the powerful commissioner is holding the Maloofs to league procedures, and in the process, he's buying a competing bid from Sacramento valuable time to fill in gaps in its plan.
<!-- begin inline 1 -->Several league ownership sources told ESPN.com there remain serious questions about the Sacramento group's financing for the team and for a new arena. Both were hastily put together in the past two months.
After the NBA owners completed their end-of-season meetings at a Manhattan hotel Friday, Stern said a final vote on the Kings' future would take place the week of May 6. Originally, the owners had planned to finalize the Kings' situation on Friday.
The Maloofs sent a letter to NBA owners this week urging them to approve their deal with the Seattle group. The letter was obtained Friday by ESPN.com.
Stern admitted Friday the Sacramento offer was not yet complete. But he downplayed the differences in the offers and said it was "in the ballpark" of the Seattle offer.
"When a team wants to move, it becomes the province of the board, rather than ownership," Stern said.
What isn't in dispute is how challenging of an issue this is for the NBA. Stern described it as wrenching. With all the moving parts and the endless rounds of public and private maneuvering by all the parties, it still remains unclear as to which group has the edge.

#140The group trying to move the Sacramento Kings to Seattle is continuing to be relentless in its pursuit. That includes the current owners of the team, the Maloof family.
If NBA rejects the Seattle offer, Maloofs say that they won't sell to the Sacramento group. Instead they have a backup plan in which they will sell 20% of the team to the Hansen/Balmer group.
If the Maloofs weren't already hated enough in Sactown....wow.Comment
