Last week Montreal was completely in control of the game until the 20-1 run in the 3rd quarter by Winnipeg. It was appropriately answer by the 14-0 run in the 4th by Montreal in an exciting finish.
Win QB Buck Pierce was great, but awful throwing 2 TDs, and 3 picks. A.C - Anthony Calvillo was standard - 20-35-1-1, while neither running game really not off. He all but completed the comeback last week, and yet, most importantly, stayed on his feet and survived until week 2 with a little revenge now in place as the Bombers showed they can compete among the elite. They were a slight dog in opening week, now turned into a TD on the road despite the close game.
I like the Bombers got fortunate in Game 1. The Al's are all that and the bucket of chicken as many people like to believe, with the motivation that the Bomber want to be competitive again with a healthy QB being sketchy at best.
The Play
Montreal -7 - 4x
Mon/Win under 54 - 1x

Montreal were shit. Those sacks must have taken a toll on Cavillo, he couldn't get anything going.
We will make it back tonight and tomorrow.

Calgary Stampeders @ Saskatchewan Roughriders - 2 - O/U 54 - TSN (Can), ESPN3 (US) Head to Head 2012 - 3-1 Sask 38 @ Cal 41 (Wk4) Cal 17 @ Sask 10 (Wk9) Cal 25 @ Sask 30 (Wk13) Sask 30 @ Cal 36 (West Semis) Saskatchewan Roughriders 2013 Schedule (Most Recent First) Sask 39 @ Edm 19 Over 54 Calgary Stampeders 2013 Schedule (Most Recent First) BC 32 @ Cal 44 Over 54
After 1 whole game of analysis, we can determine that Calgary is good, and Saskatchewan is good. The question this early on in the season, is who beat up on the better team? You have to think that the Eskimos looked extra special bad getting behind early and often, while BC after losing last week look great against the Grey Cup champs. The Edge just on 1 week of scheduling goes clearly to the Stamps.
Cal RB Cornish had a fantastic game on the ground with 172 yards and 2 TD’s, as did QB Drew Tate throwing 3 TD’s to just 1 Int. Sask QB Durant was 14-22 with 3 TD’s and 0 Int’s, while RB Kory Sheets had 131 yards on the ground with 1 TD on the road in Edmonton.
I like Calgary to win Straight Up, and unlike the 2 Thursday games, some scoring. I think the plays correlate together nicely as if the game does go over, it favors Calgary, and Drew Tate will likely have a 300+ yard game. I don’t see the line getting there, and the total hasn’t moved at all, but also 3 of 4 games last year went over 54 so I like it equally as much as I do the winner.
The Play Calgary ML +110 - 2 x Calgary/Sask Over 54 – 2 x

I hope that's a homer bet.
I laid a nice wager on HAM ML. You got me scared now.
Let's hope there is a lot of scoring anyway.

Good call on the Edmonton ML. To bad about the over not hitting, I got smashed for 7 units on Hamilton. First few weeks are always tough as dont really get a good feel for the teams until week 4 or 5.

Can you believe Hamilton imploded? Seemed like Edmonton's gameplan with this weak qb was to just play conservative and punt the ball, and yet somehow Hamilton ended up getting blown out. lol.

Actually homer plays I leave alone, let alone for 300 on the ML...
This was more about Hamilton being Hamilton than anything else. Esks I thought would make it close, but I really thought, or hoped, that I'd freeroll on the over and hope the esks pull it out... Turned out it was the other way around, and if not for Burris being ancient I might have had both... oh well, think I'm now down just slightly on the week...

BC Lions -3.5 @ Edmonton Eskimos - O/U 49.5 - TSN (Can), ESPN2(US) Head toHead 2012 – BC 2-1 Edm 27@BC 14 (Wk4)
BC 19@Edm 18 (Wk13)
Edm 19@BC 39(Wk 17) BC 2013Schedule (Most recent first) Tor 16@BC 24 Under 49.5
BC 32@Cal 44 Over 49.5 EdmontonEskimos2013 Schedule (Mostrecent first) Edm 30@Ham 20 Over 49.5
Sask 39@Edm 18 Over 49.5
The big story tonight is Edm QB Mike Reilly facing his formerteam. After a considerably better effort last week going 14-22-136 with 2 TD’sand no INT’s, the scary part is that the Eskimos haven’t yet found a lot ofchemistry thus far in the passing game. Edm RB Charles has 11 carries for 119 yards last week, and Reillyhimself ran for 54. This could still be a number of weeks before the Eskimosreally open up the passing game but as it stands, the priority is clearlyestablishing the run before the pass early in the season.
BC had a much better game as well in week 2 where QB Lulay went20-34 for 249, 1 TD and 1 INT. RB Harris also had his first 100 yard game whichagain is where BC wants to establish themselves. Yes it’s ironic in the CFL teams want toestablish the run first, but in the big open field it’s always a strategy ofcoaches to setup 2nd down and short with all the open space thatreceivers can run in.
Early in the season this has the makings of a controlled, possession type game that both defenses will be highly motivated as Westernteams playing each other tend to make it a little more personal seeing eachother much more often.
Edm +3.5 1x BC/Edmonton 3 x– Under 49.5

Nice call Biz. Wish I was able to get it in. I would have been all over that under also. Had to get up early and drive out to my cottage lot to check the foundation job. Didn't get back until it was too late. I threw down a unit on WPG +5 before I left. So pushed that anyway.

2 teams looking to hit .500 early in the season face off in just the second game at the new stadium in Winnipeg. In even bigger news, Win QB Buck Pierce is playing his 4th straight game after just playing 7 total last year, and just 4 total a couple of seasons ago.
The reports are also saying he will start using his 7.8 Yards per Rush happy feet to start improvising on the field as he’s been instructed to stay in the pocket through the first 3 games because of his previous injuries. WR Cory Watson also won’t be playing for at least 4 weeks after a hammy injury in practice as also WR Chris Matthews, last years CFL top rookie, and WR Terrance Edwards, who are all on the Injured list, Pierce just might have to throw to himself if the play breaks down in the pocket. All the key injuries the Bombers receiving core are facing have shifted the spread 3.5 points this week for the Argos’. Keep in mind Winnipeg’s Defense thus far has 18 sacks, and would shatter a CFL record if they kept the pace.
Toronto is still looking for a groove, and getting some heavy backing by the Winnipeg injury report actually doesn’t inspire me much. They have looked bleak at best on both sides of the ball. Yes they are a better team on paper, but that doesn’t mean a lot in the CFL, or sports in general.
One thing I’m reminded of is with all the injuries the past few years, particularly with their QB, lines used to drop like a rock with 3rd and 4th string QB’s getting their first starts, and Winnipeg would find ways to hang around. Still, I am not thrilled with betting Winnipeg here, but I do like the under quite a bit in an ugly game that includes lots of rushing yards and moving the sticks. I see this one as far from a shootout with the Winnipeg defense playing great, and the Toronto defense needing to step up sooner than later.
The Play Winnipeg +3.5 - 1x
Tor/Win Under 52 – 3x
