CK's Carjaking the NCAA Threads Leans for Wednesday 2/4/09

The Virginia Cavaliers are having a tough time in the ACC this year and have dropped 6 of their last 7 games and are basically a doormat in the league. So why would the linemakers make them such a small home dog to a Boston College team that is as hot in the ACC as any team winning 4 out of their last 5?

Well that's because their record was comprised against teams other than Virginia a team that they have not an ats cover against yet since joining the ACC. For whatever reason, Virginia is 4-0 ats and 3-1 straight up against the Golden Eagles, so obviously they match up well personnel wise. The last time the linemaker made Virginia a home dog to the Golden Eagles they responded by blowing out them out 72-58. I see more of the same in this game as Boston College is basically Tyrese Rice and no one else. This play is purely a situational one, and the line movement is definitely in the favor of the Cavs as 91% of bettors are on the Golden Eagles side and the line went in reverse.

Virginia Commonwealth is playing a team that they beat earlier this year today, but so what. This game has blowout written all over it as VCU is attempting to make the tournament with their usual late season run. There is a big talent mismatch in this game and it ill get ugly very quickly. North Carolina Wilmington shuldn't even have a line in this game. They are 5-18 for a reason. They are that pathetic. They give up 88 ppoints er game and VCU gives up only 65. This game is a laugher waiting to happen. There are so many mismatches in this game that i don't know where to begin.

Notre Dame is going to try out a new lineup for this game which is supposed to provide mre scoring punch. This would explain how the total for this game came out at 122 and now stands at 144, a whopping 22 point error made by the linemaker. I am banking my chances on the Fighting Irish to break out of the doldrums and get 2 covers this week, as this is game number one that I will play them and I also will play them when they play UCLA on Saturday. Cincy is a very up and down team and this looks like a down for them. When we last saw them play at home they upset the Georgetown Whores but there will be no such luck in this one as i expect for the Bearcats team that showed up to get blown out against the Villanova Wildcats 71-50 in their next game. With no idea of how the Fighting Irish will look when they hit the floor the Bearcats could get smoked as those who were relegated to the bench will come into the game as hungry reserves now.

The Bearcats have a pretty poor bench to begin with. With Notre Dame's bench about to get a much needed shot in the arm, I look for them to show that they are the superior team in this game. They are 2-0 straight up and ats against Cincy since joining the Big East with average scores of 83.5 to Cincy's 69. With 5 consecutive losses coming into this game, I don't know what more you want for the perfect situational play.

The Providence Friars are one of those teams tat can beat anybody and lose to anybody. Villanova just beat the pants off of Cincy by 21, and feel a little too confident coming into this game, and are road favorites. They have won 3 in a row which automatically makes them fade material for me. At work in this game is quadruple revenge, as the Wildcats have beaten the Friars 4 straight times on their homecourt. The linemaker responded to that fact by making the Friars a home dog for the first time since 1997. I have to take them for that reason alone. And the public has lined up for Villanova's Chicken Dinner Drive Thru to the tune of 75% on the consensus only to see the line go down to 2, which is significant because the line dropped back down onto the lowere key number. I took this one early and bought a point when the line was 3 and made my number 4.
