+31 units, forgot to include past two nights wins in previous post. I always bet the -110 on dogs, occasionally I will buy points on B bet only, if I don't like line. But I do change up on Favs. depending on severity of M/L. Sometimes buy 3 points on A bet, M/L on B bet and depending on line, M/L or buy 3 on C bet. But JM says to play M/L on all three. So the risk Mr. Brit mentions, is no higher than it is with JM system, the difference is the damage on the dog losses is much lower. It may not be for everyone because a little extra thinking is involved and some just want to automatically bet certain ways, nothing wrong with that if that's what you prefer, I just don't and I am doing fine.

Questions for the "B&C Only" Bettors

2 Questions for the "B&C Only" Bettors:

As a "traditional" Morrison System player I bet to win 1 Unit from every series that qualifies. Therefore, over a specimen set of 100 series I set out to win 100 Units (believing that 97% of the series will win). The normal odds available to me (and most others) on each game, buying 3 points, are -182 (or 1.55). This means that I risk the following amounts at each stage of the series:

A Bet: risk 1.82 Units to win 1 Unit profit

B Bet: risk 5.13 Units to win 2.82 Units (comprising A Bet risk of 1.82 Units recovered plus series target of 1 Unit profit)

C Bet: risk 14.46 Units to win 7.95 Units (comprising recovery of A Bet risk of 1.82 Units and B Bet risk of 5.13 Units plus series target of 1 Unit profit)

Total risk per series is 21.41 Units.
The total risk could be reduced with lower odds, but I can't get lower odds.
So, using the stated odds, if 3% of the series lose, as per the agreed stats, I must expect to lose 64.23 Units. This gives me a profit of 35.77% which, over the specimen 100 series is 35.77 Units profit.

The strong advice in this discussion thread is that it would be more profitable for everyone to play only the B and C Bets.

So, here's my 2 questions:

If I bet only on the B and C games and got the same odds (-183/1.55):

1. How many units, to 2 decimal places, should I bet on the B Bet?

2. How many units, to 2 decimal places, should I bet on the C Bet?

I ask for 2 decimal places because my Units are not single figures.

Please correct me but I show a Miami A bet today, yet no one has mentioned it. Miami last game was a home game, they are now on a road trip playing Portland, Clippers, and Nuggets. What am I missing?

Memphis won the A bet (series complete) solely due to the 3 point buy. So, for interest, I will track their next 2 games and see if they would have won the series without the 3 point buy. I'll let you guys know the outcome.

No more complaining, sorry! I never said that no "single bet" has lost by not buying points. I said that no extra series were lost. Two more chances, don't fret, they will win without buying. I have already played a couple series, this season, an extra game or two this season because of no points. End result, bets still won. And I never have to risk more than 8 units on any dog team. And even if this series was to lose, I would still be further ahead with my 5 losses than JM is with his 4 losses. Somewhere along the line there will be an extra loss due to not buying, never said there wouldn't. But unless JM goes undefeated, this way is more profitable. And to date, he has 4 losses. I can have 9 losses to his 4 losses to be at the same point money wise. I will have to lose more than twice as many bets as JM to make it less profitable. I am not trying to sway anyone to the "dark side", just sharing with you what has worked for me, and maybe will work for you also. My spreadsheet is also tracking the wins and losses both ways, and I will definitely share this at seasons end with everyone, regardless of results. The end result is to make $, so if it ended up being non profitable, surely I would stop.

They won there last game. Originally this was a V1 play, but they didn't lose there in conference game by more than 3 points, so it wouldn't quailify as a V1. They already won the other night as a V2 play. If you don't use filters, you can play them as a V1 tonight. But I am taking the $ I won on them already and stopping there. Good Luck.

I forgot to mention, Miami's last game (1/7/10) was a road game, not a home game. Maybe that is why you got confused. Like I said, if you don't use filters, go for it.

Mitchp, Miami last game was road game against Milwaukee (01/07). Miami won so series is over according to system rules. You can play Miami today but it's not system game.
