Gave you some points willy.. If I was with you right now I would offer you a coca-cola and maybe an ice creme as well. Since I can't come to your Ivy League graduation I decided to give the points instead for your hard work. Maybe you can buy you a couple of Koozies at the SBR store and forgive me for bashing you. Anyways, don't spend all of those points in one place

Can't tell if this is over the top sarcasm or not. Either way, I returned your points.

I have no issue with you being a diehard Cavs/Lebron fan. Some of us grow up with loyalties to a team and some gamblers here just don't understand that. It's an emotional attachment that is likely given to us from a family member, friend, etc. and it becomes something you can use to bond with others. I don't see why thats a reason to be looked down upon. In fact I think its comical that some degenerate gamblers have this "holier than thou" attitude because they don't have an attachment to a team. BUT, I had to laugh at the quote in bold, which was just silly. How about Jackie Robinson for starters?

I could clarify by saying sports related hype and scrutiny. Seriously, can you think of a player in any other sport that faced larger expectations than Lebron? Sports Illustrated crowned him "The Chosen One" when he was only 17.

Will- that's because he wanted to be dubbed "the chosen one." When you come out of HS at 18 and think and act like you're the best player in the world, minions will follow you. He put himself in that situation. If he came out of HS with the attitude of Dwayne Wade or Rudy Gay who were quiet, hardworking kids, he'd be given no labels, there'd be less pressure, and he would have a ring by now.

Goat, c'mon now you know he didn't give himself the attention. If it were that easy every HS all-american would do so. Sports Illustrated crowned him when he was 17 and ESPN began airing his HS games soon after. The guy entered the NBA at 18 years old and was immediately expected to save a franchise. He faced larger expectations than anyone in history and continually exceeded them.

He has a large part in branding himself the Chosen one, The King, the We Are All Witnesses campaign....please don't insinuate that he had no say in all that..

Huh? He's the biggest attention whore in sports... Dancing and prancing on the sidelines, throwing chalk up in the air, throwing up trick shots before the game, etc...

The first time anyone called him "King" James, he could have simply said that he would prefer to not be called that. He ate up the monikers, wearing King's clothing, wearing rings, sitting on a throne.

Excellent lead-in Roag! Thank you kindly sir! I'm not really sure if this post has anything to do with me or not......but in the event that my attempt to share any kind of spiritual message with you and others has caused a "sarcastic" reaction, I sincerely apologize. That was not and is not my goal.

I'm a derelict just like you and the rest of these guys that post on these forums. I'm nowhere near perfect.....but I do try to improve myself on a daily basis.

My posts always had the intent to "caution" young people from making similar mistakes that I made.......and to encourage some "fullfilment" through other sources than gambling.

I don't care how humble anyone in the world is, if someone says "Hey here is 90 million dollars" like Nike did and you are 18 years old you would proudly put on clothes that said King James, take pictures with lions and sit on thrones.

LB, that was messed up bumping up all of Williams threads. I would think the $10,000 win would have been enough satisfaction.

Lebron James is never going to cure cancer or make any major contribution to human kind. He is an entertainer. Nothing more than that. He is also paid a "Kings" ransom for what he does..no pun intended. It is one thing to be a fan of a team or a fan of a particular player but Willy you take it to another level. If I could choose any person to meet and have lunch with I can assure you it wouldn't be an athlete and if it was it sure as hell wouldn't be the Queen. I played in a Fantasy baseball league last year with some guys that had this obsession with him as well and I just don't get it. What is it? He is an athlete that is well paid to entertain. What is so ground moving about this? My father once told me he coudn't watch NBA anymore because of this obsession you and many others have with him. There is something very wrong when white woman want to have his baby and white(young men) want to suck his dick. The same person that you idolize to no end would probably not even allow you to park his car. Unreal the drama over this one athlete. Ask yourself this... Without basketball what would Lebron James have? Had he never became a professional athlete.. I am positive had he not became a professional athlete he would have traveled down the wrong road and most likely would be either working at Micky D's or wearing another uniform entirely with multiple numbers on it. Definitely, not stuff I think is worth idolizing, worshipping and standing up for to no end.
Lyon, for touting your IQ you sure come across Dumb with your racial comments, who cares if White girls want to have his baby and why do you think James be at Micky D's or Jail? The kid wasn't a trouble maker growing up or should I read into it like you ment it because hes black he would end up in jail? Going back to you coming across as racist. Kinda Fukked up considering this forum has all kinds of racial backgrounds. So going back to your IQ obviously it's not as high at you think it is.

Also why are you all ways trying to start shit with people it's pretty childish.

More hyped? Not a chance. I can't speak to Rose really since I wasn't around for that, but Tiger and Bonds didn't enter their first professional seasons with anywhere near the hype of Lebron. The guy was crowned as Cleveland's savior before he even laced up his shoes. His high school games aired on ESPN.

Wow. You must not know much about Tiger Woods.

He lived up to his hype. His hype was just as huge as Lebron's.

Black kid winning the Masters at 21? That's bigger than Lebron winning the chip.

He lived up to his hype. His hype was just as huge as Lebron's.

Black kid winning the Masters at 21? That's bigger than Lebron winning the chip.
I'm not talking about who has accomplished more, I'm talking the expectations they faced when they entered the professional ranks. Lebron faced more hype than anyone. You could argue that it's not a fair competition since he's played in a much more media heavy time than when Tiger entered the pros, which I'd probably agree with.

Well, those are David Stern's dollar sign expectations you speak of.

I'm not a Tiger groupie but I can tell you what Tiger has been through since the age of 3 puts Lebron's high school accomplishments and hype to bed.

Tiger got 40 mill from Nike fresh out the gate just like Lebron and this was in 96' when shit was different. Plus 20 mill from Titelist before he even played a golf round.

Lebron couldn't sniff Tiger's used condom and he knows that.

                                                No comparison buddy.

Like I said.. Tiger lived up to the hype and set a Master's record.

They should follow baseball's lead and give guys the option to jump straight to the pros or go to college. However, if they go to college they are locked in for 3 years. It's wrong to tell a guy with enough ability that he can't go make money off his talent at age 18.

I also add that Tiger's cover of SI before he turned pro was far better than that clown ass one Lebron made.

I can't speak to Rose really since I wasn't around for that, but Tiger and Bonds didn't enter their first professional seasons with anywhere near the hype of Lebron. The guy was crowned as Cleveland's savior before he even laced up his shoes. His high school games aired on ESPN.
Dude, you asked who's had to deal with more scrutiny than LBJ and I named 3 people. Now you are changing your tune to at the beginning of his career. I still say Tiger Woods over LBJ...smashing down racial barriers, growing the game immensely, accomplishing the pinnacle of his sport at 21 and exceeding all expectations. Tiger Woods was also playing in proffesional tournaments at the age of 14 and on talk shows at the age of 3.
