This is why basketball is the worst sport on Earth, and completely unwatchable. The Sixers are playing to lose their remaining games to stay in the bottom six. They have all but openly stated this. Five or six other teams are doing the same shit, and to make matters worse, some of these teams will still play each other. To bet one more nickel on the Sixers, or on a handful of other teams, is just purely foolish at this point. As long as these jackasses get their checks, they don't care about the rest of it, least of all, their fans.

My backtests never took "tanking" into consideration. And I am curious to know how many of the system's losses occurred AFTER teams had officially given up. Playing the bad teams in this system has always proved to be profitable, but I would think this wouldn't hold true when teams are TRYING TO LOSE each night.

That's a very good point about systems and tanking. This was never a thing in the past . You couldn't be more right .
Adjusting for something like the current nba would be impossible if we are being honest.
