    Terrible planning by Essendon IMO.
"We were always going to come up by plane to enable the team to return back to Melbourne tonight as we have a short turnaround heading into next week's game against Sydney at Etihad Stadium on Friday night."

Bunch of prima donnas if you ask me, with a statement like that. Weather has been shit for days.

it doesn't matter what they 'mean', they can still be profitable, in some sports pre-season games are easier to beat than the regular season.

Why? Well it is not more or less difficult than the actual home and away season IMO. You just got to pick your spots as always and factor in as much info as possible. No different to any other game. I have done pretty well on NAB Cup so far this year, but only playing small and selectively. Silly to bet big early in the season full stop, but I certainly don't think it should be a blanket rule stay away rule on this. Nothing is ever guaranteed, pre-season or not.

Is the NAB CUP (trials) ever taken seriously? I don't know how or why people bet on pre season games.

Interesting line for tomorrow nights game, Sydney vs North, Pinnacle have Sydney at -4.5. Sydney have a strong team going into this one, dont think North will keep up for 4 quarters

At metricon and the geelong list doesn't look too flash but it is a low line if i had to bet it i'd take the -15.5 for a tiny bet

    Sweet.

Yeah, Tiger's showed some life last year. I think they are a decent up and coming team.

Saints, yup. Too much drama last season. Should be better again...

Geelong now -15.5 tonight. Definite trap??

Yeah really dont know about the saints this year, we played ordinary against the swans with a strong list and played well with a young list against a young geelong team. Bit hard to know so early, new coach, new structures, it will take time to adjust I think. FYI saints always struggle against Essendon, I'd be hesitant to bet on them this Sat night

Hey guys I was just looking at the opening lines and one in particular jumped out at me, Eagles -5.5 vs Dogs. I think dogs are on the way down, no forward structure and only a couple of standout players. Eagles on the other hand are on the way up, pretty solid all over the ground, particularly up forward, and I just cant see dogs getting within 20 points of the Eagles. What does everyone else think about that and the other opening lines?
