Please explain "round of 16" . I thought it meant 16 players , not 16 matches.

if so, wouldn't that mean 16 ( and not 32 as above) players get points.


( if "round of 16" means 16 matches (32 players) then the scoring as stated above skips a round -- I do know that "Quarters" means 4 matches/8 players. )
