#1333Yep, watched it.
Barlow messed it up.
I'm giving the kid a pass on that one, he's on the path of being an outstanding set up man.
Barlow's been terrific since settling into the eight inning guy role. He gets a mulligan for last night.
You might know from Scott Barlow, he grew up and pitched in your area there in Cali.Comment -

#1335That was a rather rude home coming Matt Harvey received.
Nice to see that fan ovation though.
That's a good job on the fans behalf.Comment -

#1340Braves right-hander Mike Soroka recently felt discomfort in his right Achilles and will have to undergo exploratory surgery, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
While it’s unknown how long this procedure will shelve Soroka, it’s yet another brutal injury blow to one of baseball’s most promising young hurlers. Soroka impressed during his first major league action in 2018 and was even better in 2019, when he logged a 2.68 ERA over 174 2/3 innings and earned an All-Star nod. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old has barely taken the mound since then.
Just three starts into the 2020 campaign, Soroka tore his Achilles and had to undergo season-ending surgery. Soroka wasn’t ready for the start of this season as a result, though the hope was he would make his 2021 debut sometime in mid-April. However, Soroka’s shoulder began to act up that month, and he has been slow in recovering from that issue. Still, indications before Wednesday were that Soroka would return in June; now, though, it looks as if this latest setback could prevent that from happening.
The Braves fared quite well without Soroka during a division-winning 2020 in which they advanced to the NLCS, but they haven’t carried that success over to this season so far. They’re just 17-18 and three games out of the NL East lead, thanks in part to a Soroka-less starting staff that owns the league’s eighth-highest ERA and sits fourth from the bottom in fWAR. Ian Anderson and Huascar Ynoa have done well to keep runs off the board across a combined 14 starts, though 2020 star Max Fried, Charlie Morton, Drew Smyly and Bryse Wilson have struggled in that regard.Comment -

A little later, could be today or this weekend but to post it right is going to take some time
I'll prove out a common system that does turn a profit.
Thing is you must adhere to it constantly.
It's a 'system' we are all probably aware of but I'm going to need an hour or two to present it correctly.Comment -

#1349Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres has tested positive for COVID-19, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic was among those to report. The Yankees placed Torres on the COVID-19 injured list as a result, and they recalled infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar to fill his roster spot.
“He was fully vaccinated and previously had COVID-19 during the most recent baseball offseason,” the team said of Torres.
Torres is the eighth member of the Yankees’ traveling party to test positive this week, joining coaches Phil Nevin, Reggie Willits, Matt Blake and four non-coaches on their staff.Comment -

#1350Arcade baseball played in Coors Field again. I couldn't believe the books wanted to hang an 11 for an O/U in Coors. I get it probably had something to do with Castillo pitching for the Redlegs today but he hasn't been very good this season and Coors can turn even the best pitchers into a below average hurler.Comment -

KC is on an 11 game losing streak yet only four under.
My opinion is there is no such thing as a big game (series) in the middle of May but his double header today (KC/CWS) is important to us Royals fans.
If you ask me we ain't beating their ace (Giolito) with Brad Keller and we ain't beating the AL's best middle reliever (Kopech) with Junis,
Even though Junis can be very, very nasty at times.
Having said that watch KC sweep Giolito and Kopech.
Then you'll have to scoop your pal Nasher up from the floor as I clutch my chest like Fred Sanford in Sanford and Son.

#1358Aaron Judge is a really big boy.
2 for 2 so far tonight, 2 solo homers top of the fourth.
Not really a Yankee fan but would love to see what he could do if he played a healthy 148 games.
70 HR's would be realistic.Comment -

#1362The Dodgers have signed veteran right-hander Nate Jones to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City, per their Triple-A communications director Alex Freedman (Twitter link). Jones, a client of Sterling Sports Management, was designated for assignment and released by the Braves earlier in the week after a brief stint with Atlanta.
The 35-year-old Jones parlayed an excellent Spring Training effort into an Opening Day spot in the Atlanta ’pen but struggled mightily out of the gates with his new club. In 10 1/3 innings, he surrendered six runs (four earned) on the strength of eight hits and 10 walks.
Jones was once an excellent setup man with the White Sox but has struggled to stay on the field and put up lackluster results when healthy in recent seasons. In parts of eight seasons with the ChiSox, he pitched to a 3.12 ERA over the life of 291 1/3 innings. Whether he can ever reclaim that form remains to be seen, but Jones came out of the gates in 2021 with a still-very-healthy 95.8 mph average velocity on his heater. He’ll give the Dodgers some experienced depth in Oklahoma City and could eventually work his way onto the big league roster, particularly given the number of injuries in the L.A. bullpen. The Dodgers are currently without David Price, Corey Knebel, Brusdar Graterol and Scott Alexander.Comment -
