home teams really struggled last night and that hurt me as I typically roll with home teams in DFS.
I used Stalock and Bishop in net. Did not work out.

^^^ yep that was announced on Wednesday.
I believe he can actually choose which game to sit out, either the Capitals game right before the break (Jan.23 at Toronto), or the game right after the break (Feb.1 home game vs. Calgary)
Ovechkin apparently will play against Toronto on Wednesday's last game before the break. Meaning he will serve the 1-game suspension for the Feb.1 game vs Calgary.

Friday will start getting back to normal with 8 games
Saturday 13 games, including one 1pm and one 2pm Eastern starts.
Next week's schedule is choppy, but Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are the full cards.

weird schedule with some teams playing back to backs while others getting 10+ days off

the Canucks sit at 4th place in the Pacific division, and tied with Colorado at 52 points in the Western Conference. Will be interesting to see if Vancouver can make the playoffs in what was expected to be a rebuilding year. Of course, Elias Pettersson the 20-year-old is front-running for the Calder Trophy rookie of the year award.
Canucks have a 4-game road trip after the All-Star break beginning on Saturday.... in Colorado.

Penguins acquire Nick Bjugstad, Jared McCann from Panthers for forward Derick Brassard, Riley Sheahan and three 2019 draft picks.
Analysts are expecting Florida to trade away Brassard, thus freeing cap-space for a bigger name to play for them after this season.

The Ducks are an auto-fade right now . They can`t score and they are giving up 5-6 goals a game .

Anaheim currently playing in Philly.
Since December 17, the Ducks have two wins.

Looking like another blowout 4-1 as I type . If you arent fading the Ducks right now , you hate money .

that was a rough spot for that Vancouver goalie, Mike DiPietro, on Monday night.
Very first shot against him NHL career, went in.
And the Canucks didn't want to pull him because Markstrom has something wrong, minor injury IIRC.
Tuesday they made a deal with NY Rangers for some no-name minor league goalie to help eat minutes in the remaining games. Marek Mazanec to Vancouver for a 2020 seventh-round draft pick.
Canucks appear to be bowing out of the playoffs for this year.
