Big win for the A's. I thought they were done after the Rangers early scoring. Huge, huge error by Hamilton.

I hope A's make it to the final but I still think Rangers will win the WS.

Red Sox fire Valentine after 1 tumultuous season.

The Boston Red Sox thought Bobby Valentine would restore order to a coddled clubhouse that disintegrated during the 2011 pennant race.
Instead, he only caused more problems.

The brash and supremely confident manager was fired on Thursday, the day after the finale of a season beset with internal sniping and far too many losses. Valentine went 69-93 in his only year in Boston, the ballclub's worst in almost 50 years.

Did anyone other than the Bosox front office think that Bobby V would be a disaster?

The 2012 MLB Postseason is finally here! I'm looking forward to both Wild Card games today.

The Lohse/Medlen matchup could very well be a classic with runs being hard to come by...

I look for more scoring in the Saunders/Darvish matchup, this one could be a slugfest...

People shouldn't have been sleeping on Baltimore. I think most still are. Baltimore will send New York home too. Definitely a terrible call in the Atlanta game. Umps won't even own up to it either. Call was to late, nobody ever was under the ball. Joe Torre's explanation isn't right for not allowing appeal either. It may be a judgement call, but even judgement calls have to have some discretion as to how bad of a judgement it is.

Total shocker by the O's. Saunders looked terrible to start the game. No control of the fastball and yet gets the job done.

Egregiously poor call on the infield fly in the Braves/Cards matchup. Ruined the whole game for me.

Bad infield fly rule call again in the S.F. game. It didn't mean anything because the catcher caught the ball anyway, but to me that shouldn't be called because he was definitely not camped under the ball like the rule says. He just got there in time and his glove was the only thing ever under the ball and it was at the last split second and the out was called before that.

Sloppy, ugly ball further marred by questionable officiating thus far in the playoffs. I hope things get better.

Baltimore will tie the series tonight. Virtually a must win game for them and the offense will score enough off Pettite to win the biggest game of their season.

Yankees had several chances to take this game. They left 10 men on base and were 2-8 with RISP.

It's so frustrating watching this team struggle to hit!

I like Baltimore's chances to win 2 of 3 now. They are on the road but they play the Yankees well and you got to think they are going to hit some homeruns at some point. I think maybe Thome clocks one eventually too or at least comes up with a huge hit. Tide might change in the Oakland series now that they are at home. Cinci is a lock to win their series.
