Last time I remember doing good at a road course, was about 2-3 years ago when I faded Ambrose and everyone had him. His car messed up and I won the Week Easily.

Well guys enjoy playing this contest the rest of the year, because Fox is getting out of the Fantasy Sports Industry. They laid off all their Fantasy Sports Writers today and announced that this would be the last year of the Fox Fantasy Auto Racing game.Comment -

I read the 2014 thread which was pretty funny. Seems the Yahoo game is actually the one which people would like most since there is nothing based on place differential and you just try to pick place prior to qualifying. You can only pick certain drivers a certain amount of times so that would be challenging.
By the way, place differential is what makes fantasy not gambling because you cannot bet money based on outcome of a race. The fantasy game is considered a separate race so your winnings are not based on the outcome of the race and it is considered skills based (wink, wink).
I knew when I got on DraftKings that they had designed NASCAR Live. DraftKings and NASCAR have an agreement. Fox, of course, just happens to broadcast NASCAR instead of ESPN so no surprise they are getting out after getting people used to the idea and now they can move over to NASCAR Live and then DraftKings.Comment -

I don't know too much about Yahoo but seems more based on your knowledge of NASCAR whereas DraftKings and NASCAR Live are more based on how well you know the contest. If you figure out how the contest works, you don't really need to know that much about NASCAR. You just slot drivers.
So if you correctly forecast that three drivers will finish better than the two favored like I did at Pocono, you will do better instead of getting crushed when the favorites get a lot of lead laps and then lose.
That seems to be what people hate about NASCAR Live and why most people drop out in addition to having to put up too many points running in two contests which takes you more points than you earn in an entire year.Comment -
I agree. Never been interested in Fantasy in general and even after years stick to picking the best 5 finishers as much as possible LOL
But have played Yahoo against Rob and Yisman a few years casually, and Rob pretty much constantly dominates (Yisman?) so either there still is a strategy or he is just a very good capper.
Anyway, a switch to Yahoo will have me more interested again next year.

Yes. There is definitely a strategic element to Yahoo because you are gong to need to pick drivers that will fare well on certain tracks and use them at the right time. That gives someone like Rob an advantage but at the same time it gives everyone that likes NASCAR basically equal chance whereas with NASCAR Live you are basically in an egghead contest designed for the people that designed the game to win all the money.
If you guys wins in Yahoo, you are going to win but in NASCAR Live you will get your doors blown off by Truex.
As a casual fan, you probably have better chance of winning in NASCAR Live in one week but over the course of the year you are going to get killed.
I think from the standpoint of SBR NASCAR fans the Yahoo game is more sustainable for a large number of people and the NASCAR Live game is better used for the guys that want to get more involved and use more points.Comment -

It appears that they are exiting Fantasy Sports all together, since the reporters they let go, covered all Fantasy Sports not just Nascar.
I got this info from one of the laid off reporters who reported yesterday that ALL Fantasy Sports Reporters had been laid off and the Fox was exiting the Fantasy Industry.
We got plenty of time to figure out where we go next. I'm just glad to see that players are interested in keeping going what we have started here. We've played for at least 8-9 years here, and I've grown quite fond of setting some kind of line up every Sunday against you sharks.Comment -
I just don't get it, Sports fantasy is what attracts a lot of fans to these sites. To do away with certain segments like the way espn gave up on Nascar and now Fox doing the same thing, really makes no damn sense. The good 'ol days of good racing fantasy are fading away fellas.
