just not enough time in a day to do enough analysis of the also-rans and past performances at the track, and to gather the garage scuttlebutt about who's got the car to beat, etc., to do fantasy nascar on a serious basis.....

watching qualifying can give you a lot of the inside input from the garage area, as dw and mcreynolds provide some insight on what they're hearing, and how well drivers do at this track or that, but I never have time to watch it these days

I agree 100% about the info you pick up from the talking heads. And I also no longer have the time to watch every session like I did in previous years.

But so far this year I am actually doing quite a bit better than the last two years just working on past history and current and betting early

wound up with a lot of extra salary, so decided to spend some of it by "upgrading" from Candyass to JJ. That was my final change. Very costly. Bowyer getting involved in that wreck at the end cost him something like 10 spots.

Looks like fox still has the wrong finishing positions, though. Maybe they'll fix it Sunday.

Hasn't been any good for over a year now thinks he's 4th in the pecking order at Hendrick , he dumped danica 2 weeks ago , then did the same to biffle on Saturday , consistently running with midfield runners

correlation between garage chatter about the 2-3 to cars for the weekend is key, particularly if a top car qualifies badly and you know he'll make it to the front.... history at tracks mixed in, particularly when picking your 5-6k salaried drivers, seems to be a good formula..... practice speeds can help you pick a dark horse who happened to have nailed the set up....

as for bristol, dnf's among darkhorses in the past can be a clue as to who to avoid

practices often have no bearing on what actually goes on during raceday

but you can find an "also ran" who happens to have the right set up, which should carry over to raceday.....

more so at the mile and a half tracs as opposed to short tracks like bristol/martinsville.....
