Ive got a theory behind his sudden departure,think it has a lot more to do with his contract then it does his health worries.

Well its just a few interesting things,he's in the last year of his contract,me personally I feel that he wasn't happy with his renegotiatons and knowing he had no other Competitive ride out their to jump to,he realized he was in a take it or leave it scenario.

Edwards is a very rich man know,he's worth about 70 million dollars,another thing ive been hearing rumblings that Dodge is trying to rejoin the Sport,he very possibly could have had dicussions with their people to drive for them if they make a return,these Nascar guys are very tight lipped Donk,how many backdoor deals have we seen over the last number of years.

If he comes back and joins Dodge you owe me a Beer.

well, u could be on to something, as although I didn't see the press conference, I did hear that he didn't mention the word "retire".... but it did seem as though he made it clear he was "leaving the sport" from what I read, as a driver, anyway....

he'll start to miss it -- they all do -- and will jump into a ride or two to sub for an injured driver, suspended driver, etc....

let's just hope it's not a restrictor plate track, where edwards has probably made more boneheaded "big one" starting moves than any other driver in nascar history.....
