tough to do in the market they are in. not like a ny, la, bos or chi where bad contracts get absorbed off of tv revenue.

It looks likes A.J. Burnett has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies.

            It's a one-year deal worth $16 million...

              My earlier Quote:

              1. Heard that he wants to stay in the National League, and 2.near his home in Maryland. 3.Also wants to pitch for a contender.
It appears AJ got everything he wanted with his new contract.

But is Philly really a contender this year?

They will be battling to stay at .500 all year

Agreed here. I think the Pirates will come back down a little bit too, but I suppose the extra few million was the winner. Saw Pirates offered $12Mil.

I don't know why they signed him either. Maybe to flip him for some assets before the trading deadline.

They may trade him, but he some limited no trade clause so the return would most likely be small. But there is still value in adding wins even to a team in the middle of the pack like the phillies. Just ask Cleveland and Pittsburgh how hard it is to get fans back after being dreadfully bad.

I'm honestly surprised that the Pirates offered that much money.

Would have loved to see A.J. pitching for the Black and Gold again this summer.

However, pitching is probably Pittsburgh's biggest strength right now.

Several young studs that could carry the franchise the next several years...

I like this kid. He is for real.

I really hope he has a CY type year, except when he plays the Reds of-course.

I thought that the Mariners had Cruz locked up, But something has gone wrong. What? Not sure

Heard a rumor that he turned down 5 year 75 million dollar contract. If true Why?

He is 33 and was just suspended for PEDs. Makes ya wonder WTF???

Julio Teheran signs a 6-year deal with the Braves.

David Price stays with Tampa Bay, for now...

Well deserved. IMO.....I believe hes getting a guaranteed is $32.4 million contract with a 7th year option worth $12 million.

He was a big part in me winning my league last year and will be looking to grab him again this year.

The Braves are on a signing frenzy at the moment and Closer Craig Kimbrel and shortstop Andrelton Simmons are next.

Heard a rumor that he turned down 5 year 75 million dollar contract. If true Why?

He is 33 and was just suspended for PEDs. Makes ya wonder WTF???
If he turned that down he's nuts.

I would love to see the Reds throw their hat in the ring for Ubaldo Jimenez.

Ryan Dempster, 36, is going to sit out the 2014 season. Hes going to lose $13.25 million.

He stated that he does not physically feel like he can do the job, because of a neck issue.

Also he said he will not rule out a return in 2015.

He was a big part in me winning my league last year and will be looking to grab him again this year.

The Braves are on a signing frenzy at the moment and Closer Craig Kimbrel and shortstop Andrelton Simmons are next.
Yeah, Teheran was a great signing for Atlanta.

He had a very solid season and finished 5th for the NL ROY Award.

                                                          14-8 3.20 ERA and 170 K's in 185.2 IP last year.
