I'm starting to get a little worried. Has Workhorse really left the forum? If so, any clues as to where he's hanging these days?

BTW, it seems that Phil Steele has dropped his coverage of Louisiana Lafayette this year, no mention on his site anymore.

I know where he is. He is doing just fine. I cannot tell you the site he is posting on. You are going to have to PM me, or e-mail me. I think you have my e-mail address.

Arizona State has received a verbal commitment from QB T.J. Milweard. If the name sounds familiar, it is probably because Milweard had previously committed to Va. Tech, but had a change of heart. Expect to see more of this.

Today is "moving day". Nebraska to the Big 10. Colorado and Utah to the Pac 12. Boise State to the MWC. BYU goes independent.

Ive been so busy lately havent really had time to follow the upcoming season, BD what are your thoughts on Oregon? Will Chip Kelly coach the first game? Seems like this is another Tressel situation that is picking up steam and we all know what happens when Yahoo and everyone else starts digging around searching for the next big story. I hate to see what happened because I really do like watching his style of football at Oregon and of course they were in position to have a decent team this year.

                    What are your thoughts?

I think that Kelly is in trouble at Oregon, but whether or not all of this comes to light before the start of the season remains a mystery. He is in big trouble. Just how big remains to be seen.

Other news is Alabama incoming freshmen running back Dee Hart will miss the entire season. He suffered an ACL tear during 7 on 7 drills Tuesday nite. The loss wouldnt seem so bad if it werent for 2 of Alabama's back up RB's have left the team already.

We are deep at RB. Richardson, Lacey, Fowler can get the job done. What makes you think we will even have an nfl season and that richardson would leave a year early if there will be no contracts or money exchanged?

Heard an interview with Vrable and it did not sound like he is very fond of the players who were suspended, so the rumor could be true.
I think 5 games is a harsh enough punishment and the players should be allowed to play.

King is a pretty big loss for GA but they have talent to fill the hole. I think we will see Branden Smith step in and see a significant amount of playing time, with steady doses of true freshman Isaiah Crowell and possibly reshirt freshman Ken Malcome if he can remain healthy. They also have JR Carlton Thomas who could be able to see some work this year.

UGA moves LB Richard Samuel back to RB. He played some at LB last year before redshirting the rest of the season due to injuries. In his first two years at UGA he played RB in 22 games, including 6 starts, rushed for 528 yards and 3td's on 114 carries.
Listed at 6'2" 234lbs he should make a bruising runner behind what looks to be a pretty decent O Line.

I still think boise embarrasses them in game 1.

Just got through reading this entire thread. What an outstanding compilation of information on the upcoming CFB season. I just wanted to say thank you to Workhorse and BigDaddyQH (among others) for putting so much time and effort into the thread. 2011 will be my first season betting CFB seriously after dabbling for the last few years. I'm looking forward to reading the thoughts of knowledgeable posters as the season progresses (hopefully the garbage will stay out of here) and will contribute when i can (In Canada, we're raised on hockey instead of football, so I'm working from behind)

It would be great to keep the garbage out of here, but unfortunately when the season rolls around your going to see the attention whores trying to take control of College Football picks, where they will just post a thread for a pick and it will say Penn State +3 cash it, and if it wins they will say they are the best College FB capper ever. Look around right now at the people are in these threads right now and these are the people who actually know stuff and are knowledgeable about the sport.

That's the nature of any public forum though. Fortunately, a well maintained discussion thread full of knowledgeable posters are not going to give the attention-seekers what they want. The best defense against the clowns is the ignore function. It can turn the rowdiest forum into a place of business by removing the background noise.

Some Chic Fil-A Classic stats. Georgia received 53,222 tickets to Boise's 7,500. The rest will go to the Peach Bowl Inc. and sponsors. Georgia is receiving 1.7 mil for playing in the game and the Peach Bowl is paying Louisville 500k for cancelling their game against Georgia this season. Pending agreement from both schools, beer will be sold until halftime.

On field and replay officials will come from the SEC.
