Alright, I've been waiting for something of substance, but it hasn't shown up yet. Would I be willing to show up for a challenge?
Well, yes I would. I'm not saying that I would win, but given a level playing field, I would have a high probability of winning. So there you have it....... if there is truly a challenge, I accept.

A woman reportedly talked to "central ohio channel 10 news" and talked to them about her recent (dec 2010) trip to "the tattoo shop" where she saw back up QB Kenny Guiton and some signed memorabilia. She even gave them pictures of him inside the shop and a autographed football. Of course, the tattoo shop owner denies any "swapping" took place.

I guess when it rains it pours. It would suck to have your backup QB sitting out due to violations wouldn't it?

          WISCONSIN
Wisconsin will receive $1 million to play Northern Illinois at Chicago's Soldier Field on September 17. Seems Northern Illinois was worried the Badgers would back out of the contract and decided to up the ante for Wisconsin. Northern Illinois will reportedly receive what ever revenue is left after Wisconsin get's their $1 million.

          TENNESSEE
Former Vol head coach Phillip Fulmer's name is once again being connected to his alma mater. And, as expected, Fulmer is making it perfectly clear that he's open to the overtures. Fulmer had spent more than 30 years as a player (68-71), student coach (72-73), assistant coach (80-88), offensive coordinator (89-91), and head coach (92-08) at the school. Wishful thinking of ole Phil's part...ain't going to happen.

          OKLAHOMA
Head man Bob Stoops announced last night that defensive tackle Daniel Noble's football career is over due to the lingering effects of a concussion last season. Noble suffered the injury during an October 16 game with Iowa State and missed the rest of the season. He played in five of the first six games as a true freshman.

          PURDUE
Purdue announced yesterday that Patrick Bade has decided to move from the basketball program to the football program. Listed at 6-9, 230 pounds, Bade will play tight end for the football Boilermakers. Bade who played in 58 games for the basketball team, has not played football since his junior year in high school. He was a highly recruited football player with offers from Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Ohio State and others.

              Keeps getting worse for UT
Defensive tackle Montori Hughes no longer a part of the program. According to this source, Dooley did not give a reason why he was released for the football team, but he did have previous academic issues and violation of team rules. Guy must have been one of the many trouble makers that were involved with the UT program.
Hughes accumulated 37 tackles and 1 sack during his tenure as a volunteer.

CCI, sometimes there's pain before gain and the Vol's are going through their share of pain right now. I'm not sure what to expect from Tennessee this season.

                  TERRELLE PRYOR
This will be my last post on this hotdog. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired the negotiating rights to the former Ohio State quarterback and have spoken to Pryor about playing for them in the Canadian Football League. Pryor, a three-year starter for the Buckeyes, announced Tuesday that he is giving up his senior season while the NCAA looks into issues dealing with improper benefits and cars. Roughriders general manager Brendan Taman told the Associated Press on Wednesday that the team has talked to Pryor's lawyer, Larry James. According to Taman, James told the Roughriders that Pryor would need until next week to consider the situation.

The best thing for Terrell Pryor is to go to Canada and get the hell out of Ohio. He and Ohio State would better for the move.

                    Players leaving sec programs

                    ALABAMA
                    • RB Demetrius Goode- Obviously wanted more playing time, never made it past 4th on the depth chart, never saw any significant snaps at Alabama, although being very talented. Would almost never see the field behind Richardson, Lacey, D. Hart, and possibly Fowler. He will be playing for fatboy Terry Bowden at UNA.
                    • RB Corey Grant-More than likely for the same reasons Goode is leaving, Grant's high school coach said he wanted to leave the program, does not exactly have a destination in mind, but is thinking of going to Auburn.
                    • NG Kerry Murphy-Murphy was plagued with knee injuries last year, and is likely to receive a medical scholarship, which would end his playing career, according to espn sources.
                    • CB B.J. Scott-I hate to see this kid leave the program, he was a number 1 athlete according to rivals when he signed with Alabama. He had knee surgery last November and reportedly starting exploring his options then. he will be going to South Alabama, where he will most likely do well at any position he plays.
                    • LB Petey Smith-As discussed in an earlier post, Petey Smith is transferring to Holmes Miss community college. Upon questioning Petey said "I felt I wasn't giving it my all, and instead of waiting , would rather transfer" I think this says alot about his character. He would rather go to a lesser school that does not ask for as much out of him than play for the greatest football team in college history.

                      • TE Ryan Calendar-Sophomore TE Ryan Calendar was granted a release from the Hogs, it is not known yet where he will transfer. He redshirted in 2009, played two games as a DE in 2010. Petrino had hoped to use the 6'7" texas recruit as a replacement to departed TE D.J. Williams, but after spending the spring as #5 on the depth chart, he has asked for and been granted his release. He did not comment on the subject
                      • PK Eddie Camara-Was not going to see alot of playing time, has been granted release. Word is he is looking into SMU
                      • OG Cam Feldt-Was highly recruited coming out of high school, never really broke into the depth chart. He will be playing ball at UNT.
                      • LB Austin Moss-Buried on the depth chart, was primarily used on special teams. Not sure yet where he is headed
                      • C Seth Oxner-5th year senior, played every game in 2009 but was jumped on the depth chart last year. Will play at the university of monticello bowl weivels (no I am not shitting)
                      • WR Lance Ray- Although not doing much at WR he spent alot of time on special teams leading the team at kick returns, kick return yardage and average. It is not known yet where he will end up, but he would have been 5th on the depth chart for the Hogs.

                            RUSSELL WILSON
If former North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson decides to play one more year of college football, it looks like it will either be for Wisconsin or Auburn. Wilson visited the Badgers on Tuesday and Wednesday and by all accounts, it went well. He appears to be leaning toward Wisconsin. One source told madison.com "He definitely liked Madison better than Auburn." Wilson has received interest from more than a dozen schools but has only visited Auburn and Wisconsin. Wilson is currently a member of the Colorado Rockies organization and the MLB club would be entitled to a large portion of his reported $250,000 signing bonus if he leaves before his minor league season ends September 5. The Badgers begin summer camp in early August, with their first game September 1. Last season, Wilson passed for 3,563 yards and 28 touchdowns for NC State.

                            WEST VIRGINIA
According to a Sporting News report, West Virginia is negotiating a buyout for head coach Bill Stewart's contract and immediately bumping coach-in-waiting Dana Holgorsen into the head coaching position. What a frecken circus....stay turned.

                            JIM TRESSEL
Speaking of a circus.... Ohio State University president Gordon Gee confirmed to the Associated Press that his former football coach will still be required to pay the $250,000 fine levied on him by the NCAA. It was reported after Tressel stepped down May 30 that, per his contract, he is not "entitled to receive any futher compensation or benefits" if he were to ever resign his position.

Cornerback Patrick Hall tore the ACL in his left knee during a players only workout a few days ago. Hall will undergo surgery, then rehab for up to nine months. Needless to say, Hall will miss the entire 2011 season. As a 5-star recruit in 2009 and was rated the No. 19 player in the country by Rivals.

                            ARKANSAS
Former Razorback offensive lineman Cam Feldt has officially left the Hogs and is on the campus at North Texas. Feldt, a 4-star recruit from Texas, will sit out this season and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Feldt redshirted his only year at Arkansas.

                            ALABAMA
The Crimson Tide football program got a head start on the recruiting class after next. Its first commitment from the Class of 2013 came Wednesday. Offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman, a junior to be at Handley High School in Roanoke, Virginia, made his intentions known after attending a football camp at Alabama. His commitment is non-binding until scholarship papers can be signed nearly two years from now in February of 2013.

                            OKLAHOMA
Head coach Bob Stoops won't be laying claim to the BCS championship that Southern Cal won after beating the Sooners in the 2005 Orange Bowl but had to vacate this week. Stoops said Wednesday night that the Sooners are "not claiming any championships" after the BCS stripped the Trojans of their national title. Kudos to coach Stoops.

                                • RB Washaun Ealey-He is a JR with two years of eligibility left. Ealey had many run-ins with the law while playing for UGA where he compiled 1528 rushing yards and 14 Td's. He is expected to transfer to Georgia Southern
                                • WR Logan Gray- After GA lost two of their top WR at the end of the year, they have gotten news that Logan Gray wants to transfer. He was originally recruited to play quarterback, but after Aaron Murray beat him out for the starting job he was moved to WR. He is expected to transfer to a school closer to his hometown in Columbia MO. He had 9 catches for 109 yards and 1 TD. He was also used some on special teams for punt return.

I do no know where he is going but will be immediately eligible at any school he chooses.

19 player in the country by Rivals."

This just shows you haow far off Rivals, and those rags can be. Hall never amounted to much at USC. He was not on their two deep this season. I hope the young man recovers soon.

Russell Wilson should learn from Kyle Parker... go take the money. Wilson isn't a NFL qb, just like Parker wasn't.

                                      • TE Alex Smith- When he was signed in 2010 he was ranked 11th tight end in the country. This spring he was listed as 7th tight end at the university of kentucky. He was dismissed from the team in april for violation of unspecified team rules, and has transferred to Ohio University where he will play for the bobcats.

Montori was a low rated recruit who showed flashes of potential early on that he could have a high ceiling. Since his impressive freshman year, his immaturity and lack of work ethic has shined through more so than his natural ability. Hughes was going into the spring 5th or 6th on the depth chart at DT (a position UT lacks depth) and rather than improving and getting his act together it was made clear that it was best for the program to separate themselves with Montori. Probably will not be the last Vol to jump ship before the season starts. There are normally a few casualties each year, however due to recent struggles and negative light shining on the program, news like this seems to be of elevated importance.

There were much fewer games listed this year, because the Nugget got hit hard last year in two games. One was the Boise State-Va. Tech game. The other was the Florida-LSU game. For thie first time since the Nugget started doing this, they took a loss on their "games of the Year" last season, in part, thanks to us.

Damn Work. These SEC guys are crazy in here. They knocked the Boise State-Georgia line down from Boise State -6 to -1.5. We just grabbed Boise State at -1.5. When the line shoots back up, we will take Georgia. Talk about an easy middle. My only worry is that Georgia does not get crushed by a much better Boise State team.

Alabama and Auburn fans should have some interest in a September football game between a pair of Texas schools. Well, maybe they'll want to know the score, at least. Texas State will open its season with a September 3 game at Texas Tech, which is led by former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville. Texas State will debut its new head coach Dennis Franchione, who spent two years coaching Alabama. Franchione and Tuberville split a pair ot Iron Bowl games against each other, with Alabama winning in 2001 and Auburn returning the favor in 2002. This is Tuberville's second season at Texas Tech, while Franchione is returning to coaching after three years out of the business. He left Alabama after the 2002 season for Texas A&M, spent five years there and then got fired. He spent two seasons at Texas State in 1990 and '91 before moving on quickly, as Franchione is apt to do. Neither Texas Tech nor Texas State is slated to face Texas El Paso, which is led by former Alabama coach Mike Price who never coached a game for the Tide.

                                                                        * Virginia Tech is the only team in the nation with 10-plus wins each of the past seven seasons.

                                                                        * Maryland's Danny O'Brian was the No. 2 freshman quarterback in the nation last year throwing 22 touchdowns.

                                                                        * Mike Gleason will replace Russell Wilson as quarterback for the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

                                                                        * Duke's David Cutcliffe has won 12 games the past 3 seasons...two more than Duke managed in the previous 8 years combined. Maybe should have Tennessee.

                                                                        * Georgia Tech led the nation in rushing last year, averaging 323 yards per game, while smashing the ACC record.

                                                                        * Miami loses its leading receiver, running back, tackler, sacker, and top 3 cornerbacks from last year.

                                                                        * North Carolina tied Southern Cal with 9 players selected in this year's NFL draft.

                                                                        * Virginia Tech led the nation in turnover margin last year. Young D should be better in 2011.

The ACC is worth watching my friends. Florida State is my pick to win the conference....but only a fool would ever count Virginia Tech out.
