WH is gone guys. I have talked to him and unless he has a change of heart, he will probably not be back. Some of you know where to find him.

#774First, thanks and second sorry I ran out on you guys. You guys are special and are some few who made this place fun when fun wasn't in in college football. BigDaddy and I owe you guys thanks because we are just old men who love football.
I would FIRE the SOB who buried CFB with no respect to the posters who made it one of the best on the net. Look at it now SPONSORS with the bumped, inflated numbers.
Someone at this fine site is either stupid or knows nothing about friends of college football. Bury college football forum when it was No. 1 on the net. Fire the dumbshit.
To all you guys who helped the Notebook be something special. THANKYOUComment -

#777The Oklahoma linebacker and their leading tackler the past 2 years, Travis Lewis, is going to be out for an estimated 8 weeks, that is sorta big news. The replacement is a Sophomore who was the #4 linebacker recruit in the country when coming out of high school. He played last year a bit, and played well, but the loss still has to hurt the defense.Comment -

#778Georgia tech starting right tackle Phil Smith suspended for two games for violation of team rules. Will miss games versus Western Carolina and Middle Tennessee State.
Boise State AD Gene Bleymaier released from duties following Ncaa probe and internal school investigation over 22 violations occurring between 2005-2008 and an absence of institutional controls necessary to fully comply with rules governing collegiate athletic programs. The universities 1500 page report finds that 63 prospective players received benefits valued at less than $5,000.
Wisconsin Badgers sophomore WR Manasseh Garner (3rd on depth chart) will miss 3-4 weeks due to hernia surgery.Comment -

#780Arkansas- Running Back Knile Davis has injured his leg in scrimmage, and was carted off the field. This is a potential huge loss for Arky as he led the SEC in rushing yards last year, and was expected to lead the pack again this year. I am not sure the seriousness of the injury yet, but Petrino is expected to speak on the subject saturday. They will most likely plug in Ronnie Wingo,& Broderick Green, with some carries also to Dennis Johnson, Brandon Pyle, Kody Walker, Ronald Watkins, etc.Comment -

#783In your opinion, what others will now see playing time when DJ is resting his legs? I did not watch arky's spring game, nor have I followed their pratice sessions, what others appear to have the most talent or are most probable to receive a significant amount of carries other than DJ?Comment -

#787Rice Owls safety Travis Bradshaw has suffered a neck injury that will end his career in football. I have not found exact details of the injury, but he was wearing street clothes and a neck brace at the last scrimmage, and Head coach David Baliff says it will end the young man's career. Bradshaw led the nation in unassisted tackles per game (7.5). The owls are expected to move senior from Montgomery AL Xavier Webb into the starting safety position, and moving CB (former safety) Junior Denzel Wells into the back-up role, while moving true freshman Malcom Hill into a starting CB position.
Colorado State gets hit hard, suspending three players and two others being ruled academically ineligible: freshman fullback Kivon Cartwright sophomore wide receiver Byron Steele and redshirt freshman Ezra Thompson will be allowed to practice with the team but not play in games, suspended indefinitely for breaking team rules. Also, redshirt freshman offensive tackle Justin Becker and freshman wide receiver Tony Drake were ruled academically ineligible, per ESPN.Comment -

#788Another UGA player has suffered injury in a scooter accident. Highly touted LB recruit Ray Drew wrecked his wicked awesome souped up hot rod top fuel dragster scooter with the cammed out wammies. Apparently this five horsepower scooter riding kid simply cannot handle the vast amounts of tourque that this sewing maching motor produces. He injured his arm in the accident and is considered on a day to day basis for recovery, as the injury is not considered to be serious.Comment -

#789Missouri starting senior OT Elvis Fisher left practice with a knee injury. Coach Gary Pinkel said it is a serious injury, doubtful to return this year. He is expected to seek a medical hardship to return for the 2012 season. Fisher has made 40 consecutive starts for the Tigers, and has been All Big12 Honorable Mention the past two years. I have read that 2nd string Guard Justin Britt has moved into his spot on the practice squad at the Left Tackle position.Comment -

#790Just throwing the Auburn update out there for anyone who cares and/or hates....
OL is going to be very good.
Expect the running game to be very solid.
Special group of receivers.
NO talent at QB (except Frazier who is nowhere near ready with playbook and "little" things that Malzahn QB's must do)
Defensive tackles scare me... lots of softies after the starters.
Ends arevery good and very deep. We may go small often and play 3 ends (Eguae moving down to DT position)
LB's - average
DB's - very good.
Summary - will be as good as the weakest positions (QB and DT) allow us to be. Malzahn has always put up numbers.... will be incredible coaching if he does so this year with what we have at QB.
(note - should be hell on wheels next year).
Bash away.Comment -

#791Not hating at all, Auburn has a brutal schedule, I cannot see them better than 8-4 this year. Auburn is always deep in the running game, they will have one of the most talented RB tandems in the league. I am curious as to who is stepping up on the OL this year for them, after losing 4 starters, I find it hard to believe that OL would be a strong point on their team. Can you fill me in as to who is working with 1st teams and what you know about their scrimmages? Have you personally watched them practice?
I am curious and love to talk football, and I live here in auburn, so any news other than the garbage oanow fishwrapper puts out would be delightful.Comment -

#800Do they even know who is/isn't playing yet? I know they say that it could affect up to 10 starters. All of this uncertainty is making playing football as bad as the stock market for crying out loud. I tend to be conservative for the first couple of weeks anyway....like to get some data and let things shake out a little.Comment -

On the RB situation... Mason will join McCalebb as the outside threat. If we had been able to get Blakely (UF transfer) eligible this year it would have been a ridiculous amount of talent at that position.
Less than 8 wins is a disappointment. More than 9 is a surprise (regular season).Comment
