The last bet is not smart. You're just reducing the price you got on Makovsky.

Never hurts to hedge a little risk in my opinion, though i get your point. When I made the bet I wasn't as confident in Makovsky as I am now.

Interesting tidbit I read today about the Straus-Corey fight, just passing on the info. "A wildcard, unfortunately, may be the death of Straus' teammate Chris Smith, who passed away from a car accidnt just last week. Straus should win this fight if his head is in the right place, but he could definitely be distracted."

those of you that are on makovsky, why do you believe he can hold dantas down, when vila couldnt? From what i can see from makovskys fight with ed west, takedowns were the deciding factor for his w.is takedowns his only weapon, in terms of getting the victory against dantas?

Not only does Makovsky have great takedowns, but his BJJ from top position is excellent. He has good guard passes and a strong submission game. Danta is slick off his back but I think Makovskys comination of excellent takedowns and top control will earn him the nod.

Vila doesn't seem to try to keep people down, he scores the takedowns and backs out. Makovsky has a very sticky top game, maintains control, passes frequently and looks for opportunities.

Thinking of making a big play on Vila. Anyone discourage it? Keep reading articles about his fight tonight, and a lot people are saying the age factor, and Vila's cardio being an issue, making me hesitate on pulling the trigger here. Curious to hear some insight from you guys here about this Vila-Nogeuira fight.
