To explain this, I really think the UFC is changing, and thats why its becoming harder and harder to accurately predict fights. The people demand fights to be finished quicker and so fighters are now often fighting with more recklessness and this makes it harder to predict.

In the old days it was easier to bet when fighters would just lay n pray and get easy wins. Now its totally different, and another big change is that whether you like it or not the UFC matchmakers are now doing a great job of setting up more competitive matchups.

And add to that the fighters are evolving, the old ones like Chuck,Tito,Rampage,BJ Penn,etc are all being replaced with new fighters like Tom Niinimaki, Khabib,Hendricks, R Lawler, Rory, Bones, etc

It was relatively easier to predict fights years ago and win but now the game is evolving. Adapt fast enough or die.

You are correct in stating that it was easier to predict outcomes years ago. I remember salivating when Matt Hughes (-300) fought Royce Gracie. Gracie was coming off a draw with Tokoro. That's right! Hideo Tokoro the Featherweight! Those were the days!
