I think the Cubs are definately the value play here now, but I think the Cards will still edge it. Marshall is surely the key to the game.

I just stepped outside and the wind seems to be blowing VERY lightly from the east. I still took the Cubs and the over.

Some people are saying wind in from right field, some saying out to left field. Anybody know? After looking into this game some more, kind of tempted to take the under.

Marshall has never pitched past AA, but he's a big lefty and I kind of feel he could be effective moreso because of the Cards never seeing him before.

Ponson, on the other hand, can usually be relied upon to serve up a few runs here and there

But seriously, this one is on the TV in the UK tonight so I'll place a small bet to make the game more interesting.

So we've got Ponson - with a 6.21 ERA last year - in his first outing of the season. Then there's Marshall in his major league debut. The over 9.5 looks tempting against these two pitchers. Also, if nothing else, variance should dictate that the Cardinals bats start connecting for once.

And a -126 ML bet on the Cards to edge it. But as long as it's an interesting slug-fest, I'll be happy.
