Betano even has the option to bet on “virtual” sports. Here, you are able to place live bets on virtual events including soccer, basketball, greyhounds, horse racing, speedway, tennis, cycling, and even marble racing. These events take place every two to three minutes and you can bet on as many as you want all day long. You can keep track of results by watching it play out just like a video game on your screen.

There is a lot to take in when you first land on the Betano home page. Instantly you encounter a wall of options that could be intimidating to both the inexperienced as well as the seasoned bettor. To the left, you will find the industry standard listing of available sports as emojis, but I would like to see the name of each sport as well. 

While the overall appearance of the site is visually appealing, navigating through individual games or sports is a bit cumbersome. Selecting an individual sport takes you to a menu filled with checkable boxes that look more like a survey than a sportsbook. Game listings have very little delineation between matchups which forces you to double-check that you are looking at the correct numbers.        

Mobile Betting and Betting App

The Betano mobile app is available on iPhone and Android so users will be able to access the sportsbook on their phones.

Users will find the same basic layout as the website and can access casino games as well as live casino games. Live game streaming is also available inside the app. The app also includes a live bet feature which is intended to help walk you through bets based on your stake and desired winnings. You can also share your bets and get notifications when your bets are paid out. Apple Watch compatibility allows you to access your account right from your wrist.  

Live Betting

Live betting is a somewhat seamless process at Betano. Popular live events are featured on the home page, but you’ll have to visit their dedicated live betting page for more options. That page is laid out like most other sportsbooks live betting sections — available sports on the top horizontal menu and games in progress in the middle.

Since the parent company of Betano is a notable gaming enterprise, it should come as no surprise that their casino would be filled with a seemingly endless array of visually stunning options. It is highly unlikely that you will be able to play your way through all of them. Betano features 610 different slots, 85 table games, and 36 megaways to choose from.

Betano History

Betano is a part of Kaizen Gaming, a Greece-based gaming company which also owns and operates the online gaming operation Stoiximan. Kaizen was founded in 2012 with Stoiximan launching in Cyprus in 2015 and Betano launching in 2017.  

On October 19th, 2022, Betano became legal and operational to Ontario bettors.       

Customer Ratings & Reputation

Betano is a well known sportsbook outside of North America, having sponsorship deals with big Portuguese soccer teams such as SL Benfica, FC Porto, and Sporting CP plus the likes of Olympiacos FC in Greece and Atletico Mineiro in Brazil. With it just being live in Ontario, it will take a while before bettors have strong opinions on the reputation of Betano.

Customer Service

The customer service options at Betano are buried at the bottom of the page, but once you find them fine compared against our other top-rated sportsbooks. Complaints surrounding withdrawals and deposits can be submitted via an online forum, but also have a virtual assistant chat and email option available. I found that their virtual assistant wasn’t able to answer my inquiry about cryptocurrencies initially, but a live representative was able to step in and help.

Options are a key selling point to sports bettors and in that aspect, Betano gives you more than enough to keep you busy for hours. Not only will you find all the major sports brands from North America, but there are hundreds of leagues from the most popular sports and even more from several non-traditional sports. Above all else, the sheer volume of betting possibilities is the biggest selling point for this sportsbook.

The website is a chore to navigate compared to other sportsbooks, but I found that once you spend enough time inside the site it becomes less of a distraction. You will also find comparable and sometimes even favorable odds to most of your other favorite sportsbooks.   

Overall this book packs quite a punch — they may be new to the North American scene, but they certainly do not present themselves that way. If you’re looking to open an account at another sportsbook, you could do a lot worse than Betano.
