Day 2 of the 48-team extravaganza features two matches, and my World Cup predictions today focus on the result of both games.

I've also added a game prop for the USA vs. Paraguay game. The earlier match is between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto. Both hosts are the clear betting favorites (-105). Today's tilts will mark the first competitive match for Canada and the USMNT in a year.

💰 Best World Cup prediction today

Canada vs. Bosnia tie (+240)

Bosnia lost one of its previous 10 competitive matches, which came against Austria in September. I'm not letting its somewhat arbitrary 64th-place ranking mislead me, as Bosnia will prove a tough nut to crack, even against 30th-ranked Canada in Toronto.

Canada is without first-choice center-back Moïse Bombito and Alphonso Davies, influential absences for Jesse Marsch and Co. That will help the visitors snatch an important draw to kick off Group B action.

Canada vs. Bosnia odds: Canada (-115), Bosnia (+360), Tie (+240)

💵 SBR Edge: Canada isn't as battle-tested

Canada hasn't played a competitive match in over a year, thanks to gaining automatic qualification as one of the hosts. While a raucous Toronto crowd will buoy Canada, Bosnia is more battle-tested and won't be overawed by the occasion.

USA vs. Paraguay tie (+240)

Like Canada, Team USA hasn't played a competitive match in a long time, losing to Mexico in the Gold Cup Final on July 6, 2025. Paraguay, meanwhile, finished tied with Brazil, Uruguay, and Colombia for the third-most points in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying.

These sides met in a friendly in November, which Team USA won 2-1. However, Paraguay had a man sent off in the 45th minute, changing the complexion entirely.

Paraguay allowed 10 goals in 18 matches during qualifying. Meanwhile, the U.S. lost three of its previous four friendlies, conceding 11 goals.

USA vs. Paraguay odds: USA (-105), Paraguay (+310), Tie (+240)

USA vs. Paraguay: Both teams to score (-102)

The USMNT conceded 11 goals in its last four matches, repeatedly showing defensive vulnerabilities. It hasn't kept a clean sheet in eight matches and shut out the opposition once in the previous 14.

Conversely, Mauricio Pochettino's side almost always scores, netting at least one in eight of the last nine. I'm banking on a 1-1 draw, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Team USA prevail 2-1.

Either way, we should see goals from both teams.
